Im still game for this.
So how is this going to work?
Will Synthe provide the samples, or will I have a listen to JosephG's track?.

To this end, Synthe, give yourself a bit more time is all I can really say.

Remember Synthe, you can compose anything you want, as long as it is in some way ...

Awesome! Would you like to be credited as River Precinct or as something else?

So we're full now!

Added!

Right, so I've tried getting hold of Infinite E eluding me at the moment. Not on purpose, I'm sure. :p

I figure I may have to pass it on to Synthestesia instead. Shame this early in the project, but it has to be done for momentum, because I'm not putting any time limit when it's someone's ...

Noone, currently. JosephG has done his, and I've been unsuccessful in contacting Infinite E. I will wait for a few more days for a reply, then I'll have to take a hard line I reckon. I don't want to impose any time limit when someone is working on something, but it would be nice to minimise this ...

oh, and i haven't talked to techboy to see what kind of thing he's doing yet (although he probably doesn't fully know, seeing as he doesn't really know what the guy before HIM is doing next.. etc. etc.), but i'd kinda like to be put next to someone who will kinda concentrate on more melodic things ...

I've been experimenting with FM drums.

hmm.. well, what i was thinking of doing was maybe taking a recurring melody in the track before mine and just letting it fade out as I (either on trombone, trumpet, or keyboard) start to fade in..
so i guess all i would need is a sample of the melody!

now, who's before me..

Maybe you could bend ...

seems like a great way to generate new ideas and all that. the fact that everybody will only ever hear the track before theirs until the very end is cool. itll be like chinese whispers :P

Yes I didnt want to say this, but I realy hope we play it like this.
Can we just pm our samples and track to ...

so, just kinda wait for the person before me to submit their stuff, then i kinda.. continue with it?
in the "Call and response" style (theirs being the "call")..

or am i understanding this wrongly?

Yes. You can add to it, or you can completely destroy it. You can play the melody with a different ...

I figure 20 participants is enough for this first 'round' if you will.

Ahem.

EDIT: actually, scratch that. I really have a ton of other coding work to do for work, and I honestly wouldn't even have time to put into it really. I might be able to host something on my servers though if you needed.

I would love to participate in the relay, if I have time.

I've added ...

I guess it is a little confusing.

What we're doing is making a track each. Based on samples of the track before yours, which are given to you by the person before. Once you're done with your track, you take the dry or processed samples you used, or the melodies/phrases you recorded, and pass that ...

:D This is going to be awesome! Btw, you'll probaly have to tell me when my turn is up, elsewise I'd just sit here like an idiot

I second this

Ah yes. Of course I will! I'll be keeping everything organised, so I can pass things on to the next participant.

This is very interesting!

Ok, I have several individual samples rendered to a bitrate of 160KB (mp3), all 6 seconds long and a writing of how I came to make this tune.

The samples are as follows:

The main synth lines and their supporting lines.

The secondary synth lines and their supporting ...

Indeed, re contextualising. You're building your own track around stems/samples, and you can choose to do whatever you like with them. The idea is that you would take them towards your own musical style, although I'd also encourage experimentation.

Apologies to anyone who has been the victim of my ...

When you say ambient, is that strict, like no percussion?
I hope not, because I'm in a mood to lay down some sick drums for this project.

and just to clarify once more, will each peace be separate from the previous one or does it have to seamlessly morph into the next one?

Also whats the final ...

Hm. Maybe I didn't exactly make it clear how this is going to work.

Please read, everyone who is involved!

The tracks aren't going to be mixed together. Otherwise this would just be a compilation/regular mix.

The pieces should be like a response to the previous one. However a response works is ...
