Re: Acquiring a Tomorrow's Harvest Poster

I have pre-ordered the vinyl from my local record store (the only independent store in Victoria BC, the usually excellent Ditch Records) but being a small Canadian indie, they frequently just don't get any bonus promo goodies from record labels.

Okay, right, the only other Victorian on here. I ...

I don't understand some of the comments I've been reading in some of the Tomorrow's Harvest reveiws, where some of the reviewers compare it to some 'chill out' late 90's comp.

Having now spent a few listens with the album, I can't imagine how anyone would find this relaxing to just "chill out to ...

It had better be a lot bigger than that.

they've said they have no interested in doing arena shows / festivals so it would likely be smaller than that

Revolt Melbourne Artspace tho...saw Clark there, p cool... probably fits 300

But... but... I only have so much money available in my line of ...

Re: Tomorrow's Harvest and The Campfire Headphase

Either you're a mind reader or my brain has internet access, because I was just thinking of this exact same thing driving home from work today

Yessssss. I will take this as the "not crazy" validation I need.

If they kept repeating themselves they'd be pegged as a group relying on ...

Ah! I understand now. Thanks for making it clearer!

I wonder what would happen if you tried to talk to Ra Lord?

I'm guessing nothing, but it could be fun to try.

I don't get the "when you visit scotland, you'd add an M to the beginning" part. Do you mean if you wanted to find the Ra Lord ham radio station from Scotland, you'd need to add an M? Sorry, I know NOTHING about ham radio.

What's on the station?

Tomorrow's Harvest and The Campfire Headphase

Feel free to run me off the board for this, but I was walking around yesterday listening to TCH.

What really struck me while listening to songs like Peacock Tail and Oscar See Through Red Eye is just how... sonically dense they are. There is SO MUCH going on in those songs, and there is so much ...

This might make me sound like a knob, but if you're not going to sit down, wear some headphones and really listen to TH, you're probably going to find it underwhelming. There is a TON of stuff going on in this record, but not a lot of it is immediately apparent. It doesn't have a lot of "woah cool ...

Hey Kathleen I managed to get you an A3 poster (no date, warp and music70 logos) + sticker.
As I mentioned before the poster is for some reason folded in half by the shop, but I will ship it flat to not ruin it any further.
the twist is that I had to buy another copy of the vinyl. Does anyone fancy ...

Acquiring a Tomorrow's Harvest Poster

Hey everyone, this is a bit of a long shot, but I thought I'd post this request here and see what happened.

I would very, very, very much like a Tomorrow's Harvest poster. I have pre-ordered the vinyl from my local record store (the only independent store in Victoria BC, the usually excellent Ditch ...

p4k 8.3 BNM http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/18104-boards-of-canada-tomorrows-harvest/

Best damn review I've read so far... :!: :!:

This, yes.

This review is incredibly well written. Good job Pitchfork.

Although, to be nit-picky, 8.3 is pretty low on their chart for BNM. I've always found ...

this track is quite brilliant, the way the synths play across the beat of the drums so it's never quite in one time signature, and the detuned motifs that escalate up the octaves into this urgent harmonic cacophony. all in all probably the most moving track on the album for me.
i'd be interested to ...

Guys, we all love Boards of Canada, but I'm fine without hearing all the random keyboard noodles they recorded when they were 15 and learning to make music.

Wow. I just gave this a good close listen today and there is a lot more going on in the background than I had noticed before. Structurally it's like a track off TCH, but it's just so thematically... Ominous.

i actually found that it was less jarring than some of the original transitions imo

however like i said earlier this is just my take on it and i was suprised how some of the songs lined up. but ending on collapse doesnt work very well. damnit guys why did you have to end on an uneven number ...
