While I'm generally cautious about the massive analog circlejerk that's been going on over the last five years or so, this camera is drop dead sexy. Given all the features it has (digital viewfinder, usb, etc.) am I right to assume that it's making a digital scan of the film as you're filming?

Yeah, I feel that. I didn't *dislike* House of Leaves , but I really think it couldn't hold it's own as a narrative or piece of writing in general without all the gimmicky formatting.

These days I'm torn between "Emily" by Joanna Newsom and "Oh Comely" by Neutral Milk Hotel.

Both of them are just monumental pieces, with their meandering, bittersweet, and evocative lyrics and all their mini-movements. Really top-notch songwriting.
