After a bit of research it seems like this specific batch of tracks are the “bonus mystery tracks” included in rare pressings of the 1998 Peel Session CDs (which also included the Meat Beat remix).
Iirc the rip of “Finity” on here originally ...

Is the name "Some Old Tunes (1985-1996)" official, or did the CD have no label? Same question about the cover image (also, where is the image from?).

Maybe we should ask MDG to confirm/deny this, before the owner decides to sell it for 10,000$...
I somehow doubt we'll get a better quality recording/photos.

"Societas X Tape" really does sound like an anagram, like "Look Sad Reel".
It could also be decoded as "A space to exist", "Escape to exist", "A static expose", "Toxic seas tape"...
Those don't make much sense though. Could also be the name of a place.
