Re: What is your favourite sample used by BOC?

The talking in Alpha and Omega fading into the song
The looped synth and noise ending Split Your Infinities
The sampler crunched thirds at the end of AEIYM
The lo-fi drone at the end of Sixtyten

Re: Weird, completely unfounded speculation on unreleased st

I think the R35TT is a collection from the hundreds(?) of unused tracks from albums up to Hi Scores, sort of like the Old Tunes tapes. The only tracks BoC seem to re-purpose are the interludes like A11, B17, and The Color of The Fire. Sometimes they resample old works, but my guess is R35TT doesn't ...

Re: BOC Gear - Old Tunes/Early Era

I'm positive all of their released albums use the S1000 in some capacity - especially Geogaddi. Music is Math has bird sounds manipulated by the S1000 and the drum effects (the looped snare) on Sunshine Recorder and the ending synth part are also run through it. That being said, they seem to play ...

I couldn't pick one

Without lyrics or context and many hidden meanings, do you ever worry that your work is misinterpreted or the ideas become lost on the listener?

What do you think society is building towards?

Do you think society has passed an event horizon in terms of technology and growth ...

Julie and Candy title inspiration?

Couldn't find a thread for this, but I think this might be what BoC were referencing with this title.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candace_Newmaker

In 2000, this girl, "Candy" who was destructive and apathetic was suffocated while undergoing extreme attachment therapy by a nurse named Julia ...

are you not still benefiting from analogue system though? the process of the vibrations moving from the record through the needle?
I don't know all the technical differences, but you'd think the sound would be better because it is a continuous signal instead of a discrete waveform. Even if it is ...

I remember a story about how after one of their earliest gigs, the crowd rushed on stage and each took a key on the keyboard and the band members just sort of watched them play... don't know how true this is though

hmm not too likely because it isn't that they don't like attention per se, they mentioned not liking doing public gigs at all. Their opinions might have changed by now though

- Institutions begin to stop serving their original purpose, serving human need, and exist only for self-preservation.

the prefix ur- means original or primitive, so I'm guessing the track represents a degeneration in the album's narrative.

The Fall - Powderkex

1986: michael formed a new band, this time with a full line-up of drums, bass, guitars, vocals. once played a cover of "L.A." by The Fall, who spookily turned up eleven years later on a Skam compilation "0161", Skam being the first label to ...

I like the hazy, VHS sheen of TCH (&TCH) - it's definitely a different sound to the other releases. Funnily enough I thought 747 was in the same vein and maybe we were up for more of that when TH came out.

Really MDG doesn't have to be here all the time telling us whether something is fake or not. You really think a band's friend would use a name like Transmissiones Rodox?

I was the one who made that Soundcloud.
