Macquarie Ridge is an homage to William Basinski

Re: Stranger Things TV series
I've been watching it this week. Watched chapter 5 tonight.
The music, and also the credits font reminded me of Tomorrow's Harvest. Same aesthetic influences.
Did anyone else think that the whole 'cold-war-mind-control-telepathy-laboratory-experiment-with-kid' scene had a very umm 'telepath' vibe?

Re: The Real Davie Addison?
There's honesty here.
If you grew up in the suburbs in the early 80's, there are elements in this guys conversation that will hit the same chords the BOC music does. It was a magic time because it was our childhood. Nothing fancy or mystical about the specifics really, when you break it down.. but ...

Re: Tomorrow's Harvest
when listening closely to Tomorrow's Harvest on good headphones, you notice that it is in fact not 'empty' at all.
Quite the opposite is true. On many tracks there exists a sort of infinite background of voices and patterns that appears to go deeper than what is heard by the casual listener.

Re: An Eagle in your Mind (Lyrics)
wow very interesting!
Maybe I'm missing something, but I've taken the audio sample of the voiceover and tried to manipulate it to make it sound like the voice in Eagle In Your Mind... brought the pitch down.. EQed ...etc.. can't get it to sound like the sample we hear in the song.. It actually ...

Re: 05. Telepath (1:32)
I'm also hearing the droning frequency at the very beginning of Telepath is very similar (in fact the same note) as the background frequency noise in these Spiricom recordings.
You can hear it best in the first second of the 4th mp3 down on the page SkyRaider linked.

The arp does sound quite similar. Certainly could have been an influence on Gemini.

Re: 05. Telepath (1:32)
Well done SkyRaider. There's surely a connection here.
Like others have already said, telepath does NOT appear to be sampled from these Spiricom dialogues. Rather, these recordings were likely the inspiration for the track.
It's pretty fascinating stuff. This guy G.W. Meek intended to use radio ...

One of my favorite moments in Tomorrow's Harvest is during Split Your Infinities - at about 1:45 in when the 2 chord pattern kind of settles in to the lower (minor) chord and this 16 beat pattern begins to materialize... there are many layers cycling together here like a perfect little storm.. and ...

A girl with horns
I was watching the classic Night of the Living Dead last night with my son.
This frame struck me first with the girl positioned in such a way that the deer antlers on the wall in the background appear for a second to be coming from her head.
Then I noticed the soundtrack.. right at this moment ...
