I met this guy at a gig my old band played. He really liked us and added me on Facebook. He had crazy, crazy eyes. As you can probably imagine by listening to his music.

I got this album a few months ago, some really good stuff on there if you're into that kind of thing:

"1982, Janine" by Alasdair Gray.

I loved "Lanark" so figured I'd give this a go.

Amazing album. Elliott Smith was such an incredible songwriter. I can hardly listen to him these days, as it's simply too sad. It's just too close to the bone. He was like a one-man Beatles with severe depression and a drug problem.

Can anyone recommend some decent earbud type headphones? Nothing too expensive, but some that don't sound like utter shit?

I usually use proper cans but I'd like some earbuds for convenience sometimes. Ie walking to the pub.

Just finished The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

That's some bleak shit right there.

See I loved how it did that. It really put me into the disjointed mindset of the various characters. I think the layout and structure of the book really enhances the experience.

Did this over the weekend. It's a bit less spooky than my usual output. In fact it's almost...pleasant. In a Krautrock sort of way.

I named myself after a motorway service station which I can see out of the window when I'm at work.

Actress always makes me feel weird. Trying to explain it is like trying to explain a dream to someone.

I'm so glad that someone else has noticed how similar Neither/Neither is to Tomorrow's Harvest! Particularly the title track and Reach For The Dead.

Doloxan is a nice track but it doesn't quite sound like BoC. A bit too clean to my ears, especially the drums.

Northwest Territories is the closest in terms of composition. It sounds a lot like early BoC, but as with the other track, a bit cleaner. It could have been remastered though.

I may be a terrorist sympathizer, but at least I didn't fuck a dead pig in the mouth.

It's pretty bonkers. I love the whole presentation of it. I think I've enjoyed this more than the few other albums of his I've heard. I can imagine this being very influential a few years down the line.
