My theory is that some of this was taken from the first cassette that Boards put together. MDG mentioned here at least twice that the Boards' tape archive goes back to 1983. So I reckon this is from that tape with some new synth drones.

Yeah I think it's LP5. The poster visuals don't match with anything they've previously done. I think it's a horror filled Filmmaker esque album. I think it's possible it's not "Boards of Canada" though as the name hasn't been referenced anywhere. Might be the first Hell Interface LP?

Yeah I reckon the album announcement will follow soon - Warp need those preorders in ASAP!

Nah, not legit. It's clearly a brand new lathe cut 12" with an AI enhanced picture sleeve, not a legit vinyl pressing from 1994. If it was legit, the centre label would have Music70 on it.

That isn't true - BoC went through a long process of digitalising their extensive archive some years ago. I don't believe any of it would have been lost - they seem quite thorough about that sort of thing.

CAN = Canada
...but I do reckon the cat numbers were made up to add further confusion.

Thomas Bangalter's father owns the mechanical copyright to a lot of funk and soul songs from the 60s and 70s. I believe he bought them up when he worked as an exec for a record label. I expect that the success of Smokers Delight, a much more chilled album than most Warp releases of the time, was one of the contributing factors in Warp signing BoC.

If the sample is from 95, doesn't this rule the track out as coming from Hooper Bay? BoC could have added the sample later on, I suppose, but they haven't done that with any other live tracks.

I don't think it was the "Bocset" from the early/mid 00s, otherwise it wouldn't have been ripped from a cassette tape. Also, some of the transitions sound homemade. I think it must be from the mid 90s.

Not sure whether to believe this due to lack of provenance and no post history from the poster. Then again, the handwriting looks absolutely spot on. What are your thoughts?
