Nightmares on wax might have more listeners but my best guess is that it's the few hits that people are listening to rather than the artist in general. I have heard boards of Canada used as background music on YouTube videos more times than I can count yet I've never heard a nightmares on wax song ...

Imo TCH seems like an ode to the past of sorts for boc and some part of me makes me think that a large part of it is probably stuff from catalog 3, etc that they reused

Imagine if they did an aphex twin and have been releasing music under a new secret alias this whole time. That would be the most reasonable thing to do if they ever decided to switch up their style for a bit.

Any unlisted videos posted before 2017 were automatically made private if no action was taken to opt out by the account owner. I'm sure BOC probably doesn't care if the videos go private so they didn't do anything to stop the change.
