I'm going to have to mention Wolfgang Voigt, aka "Mike Ink", "Gas", "Studio 1", among (literally) dozens of others. Revolutional minimal techno, electro, and ambient musician who produced insane ammount of material in the course of the 90's.

So the fact I'm highlighting Adam Wiltzie probably won't be a huge surprise for those of you who know me a little. But why am I singling out this particular half of my beloved Stars of the Lid? Well, for one, his incredible output of late has been nothing short of sensational - SleepingDog and A Winged Victory For the Sullen. But you knew that too. OK, how about his work with the late Mark Linkous and Sparklehorse? Iron & Wine? Flaming Lips? Truth be told, the more I find out about Mr Wiltzie, the more I'm convinced he's destined for greatness. Just at his own pace. ie. Dead bloody slow, and all the better for it.

And finally, I give you - with all the joy and stupidity in my heart - the glorious human being that is Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister, long time lead singer and bass player extraordinaire of Mötorhead. Go listen to Stay Clean, Bomber, I'm So Bad Baby I Don't Care, Damaged Case.... 100% British and probably 100% proof by now (famously his blood is so 'polluted' he was told by his GP that he couldn't have a blood transfusion as 'normal' blood would now kill him). He makes Keith Richards and Ozzy Osbourne look like amateurs. Saw them live last Tuesday and my ears are still ringing now. Sir, I salute you.
