I LOVE the smell of BoC news in the morning!!!

But seriously, it's so great after the long dark period of no news from them to wake up almost every day and have something new to talk about on here. I will definitely be listening to the live stream, how could I not. At this point, the album is so close we can all taste it and I don't mind getting my present a week early, if you know what I mean. Listening to it on vinyl (when it arrives) will be equally as amazing an experience, so I won't beat myself up about getting "spoiled"

Let the countdown begin!!
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

They're going to stream it 2 days before it's released? Why bother?

So it's just a symbolic gesture, like saying "ha! we beat you stupid pirates to the punch! pwned!!"

Makes sense.

sort of actually worried about this format - publicizing a stream link this far in advance, with all the hype and lead-up/press, if it's really a once-off, here's hoping their servers can take the ridiculous amount of traffic this is going to generate. i wonder what they're going to use to distribute the stream.

it could go well, but i imagine they're going to get hit pretty hard.

Had to emergency come out of the woodwook! Bout to explode here!

Can I have everybody's attention please!

Be on the lookout for different albums/tracks/lengths/content as everything is released. There may be several different versions exclusive to different sources/locations. The LDLP may be a unique legnth/content. Same with this Live Trans. The 6 codes/times/album drop locations may be unique albums. The pre-orders may differ too, even differences in downloadable tracks!

Please keep your eyes open!

My Bleep MP3 DL of RFTD = 4:47
My reserva DL of RFTD = 5:18

I'd highly suggest record (but please don't leak) this full live trans. as it may be unique/special content/play time that will only be offered this time.

I'd also highly suggest joining everybody on the live listening, you will still keep your original release date plans. You will still enjoy it- the epic trans. won't ruin anything. Be positive for both.

If you MUST not listen, may I beg you all to (at the very least) to have 1 boardsofcanada.com tab open with the volume off? We should want to set record attendance! Even if it crashes the server! We should make a footprint to encourage the powers that be to take BOC more seriously and create more opportunities. Pre-oder-platinum guys!

Side note, please, please

everybody,

don't leak, post, share ANYTHING for at LEAST 3 weeks after release date! Not even the 3 tracks from LDLP. Ensure that the ony place to acquire new material is through BOC or sales alone.
Please do everything you can do to encourage sales for BOC/Warp.
If not to make BOC rich, do it to impress the powers that be, the guardians of doorways to greater future opportunities! They are watching.

So, stand up and be counted at the live trans, look for alternate versions, record everything, post/share nothing for 3 weeks after ORD. Let BOC share/leak, take the rest down.

Just my 2c. First time joining/posting. BOC changed my life 2003. Heard about TH 27th 4 AM in Las Vegas no gas for 1.5 hrs to LDLP. :( ustreamed with u :) Pawned my car audio system next day to pre-order lol. Sick Times

Love you all, my friends!

seriously?

Anyways, I figured that it usually takes me a few run-throughs of any BOC release before I really start to appreciate it, so Listening to the album via the live transmission will make for a very cool primer of sorts.

One theory: The massive onslaught of pre-orders has started to diminish a little and they probably know they gathered in all the die-hard fans, the streaming would server to corral those who need to be convinced.

Just a thought, not even important at that ;)

Only difference I can see are the ID3 tags.
The Bleep one is from the single.
The Reserva is from the album.

the odd thing for me is that when I check the file data it shows a length of 5.18
and if I play it its 4:47

In a move that makes me feel old, I cleared a spot on my work calendar on Monday at 3pm Central to listen.

This whole thing makes me feel like I'm in college again.

Aaaaah good old Simpsons quotes that no-one gets anymore :D

Back on topic, I'm wondering if the whole switch to the cosecha-transmisiones site wasn't just to revamp boardsofcanada.com for the new album, could it have been preparing the server for the increased traffic that this will bring in or something like that? I have no clue about these kinds of things but I'm sure someone smart could find out. 8)

So... that may explain the RFTD difference and everything else may be the same-on-each-copy.

However! In support of further evidence of slightly altered/differing-content- the content of one their early trans seems to have been altered/differs but slightly the same as the closing content played at LDLP.

Why wouldn't the reserva card offer the exact content as Bleep?

But yeah I haven't played either of my RFTD's yet, didn't check data or tags etc. just mouse-hovered on XP to see time.

Everything may sound the same/same actual length but weird unique signatures?
Everything may be same time but added removed sounds?
Or nothing just Bleep got exclusive RFTD Single, and Indies got exclusive RFTD Album track, and it was just a sample in the trans. no further differences?

...and have we cleared up rumors of someone saying the actual pre=order code may be totally new/separate/bonus or whatever?

We should just be cautious thats all, so not to miss anything.

Eyes open!

Transmission will begin at 8am NZST for me... on a public holiday too!!

So, while I drink my morning brew (and cheers to Queenie for her birthday holiday!) I can start my day with some shiny new BoC!

Wow. Yay!
