Turns out the fretless bass track is not the end of the rabbit hole. It is not about Julie and Candy at all. I'm on a fence about revealing this but I'll just say that if you buy the record you will know. It is all just an illusion.
Re: Post-WXAXRXP Societas X Tape Tracklist & Discussion
At this point you might as well just tell us, every copy of Streetside got snapped up immediately after you and Mansin revealed it so buying the record is now pretty much impossible for the foreseeable futureMoz wrote:Turns out the fretless bass track is not the end of the rabbit hole. If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
- Spoiler: show

Well you are right I guess. Info is still out there, not like it is hidden or something. Anyway... I bought one of those that were on discogs, today it came in. Back cover of Streetside:Jango9 wrote:At this point you might as well just tell us, every copy of Streetside got snapped up immediately after you and Mansin revealed it so buying the record is now pretty much impossible for the foreseeable futureMoz wrote:Turns out the fretless bass track is not the end of the rabbit hole. Notice there are two LPs listed as recent issues. Backing Tracks 2, you probably heard some of those sampled all around. However the other one is much more interesting because it contains this:

Was looking through that DeWolfe archive, just trying to find anything and this sounded a bit like Oscar See Through Red Eye.

Not available in my country.
I found another upload, though- can we get a timestamp?

It's a 1975 documentary called "The Man Who Skied Down Everest".SamuraiDrifter wrote:Not available in my country.

Thanks. Awesome find!
I can definitely see why they liked this film. The music is great too.

at 01:23:12 sounds like something they would sample, no? I think it sounds like the eerie synths on Rodox Videosixtyniner wrote:I think I might have just found the "mother goddess of the world" interlude:

I bit the bullet and bought a copy of Streetside for $68. Simply because I love that piece so much
It reminds me so much of Umbrellas from Before A Word is Said by Gowen, Miller, Tompkins and Sinclair. Same early 80s melancholic fretless bass magic. I remember I shared that track on here and people said it was pretty close to Mood in Motion

I'm more curious what will happen when all of this is found. Perhaps the bros will come on here and present us with the new albumJango9 wrote:2 years later and we're still finding new stuff lmao, it's crazy to think that this is all that's left:
-That one with the General MIDI piano and autopanner (7:06)
-MBV-like electric guitar(?) drone snippet (24:30)
-"Thank You For Not Smoking" (36:22)
-"No Mileage Charge" southern car rental ad (40:42)
-Rattling bone-like drums (42:10)
-"Mother goddess" sample (1:04:42)
-"Soon The Queen Will Come Our Way" (1:21:54)
-Ambient drones before last two tracks (1:51:45)
Not sure whether the little shortwave radio snippets count since those are almost certainly home-recorded and impossible to find, but I suppose anything's possible lol. Still, only 8 more main things to go! Which one do you guys think'll turn up first?

Jeez, I've missed a lot since I last checked this thread. I bloody knew the fretless bass would be a library track from DeWolfe or Bruton. Great find.
