Warp Absolut

Post by JNo »

Hello,

After 3 years lurking... my 1st post at last
Here's something I think we should check :
http://www.lesinrocks.com/index.php?id= ... b1b33efedd

For you non-French speakers :
Next Saturday in Paris, a Warp album to be released in 3 months will be unveiled - and kept secret until the last second. Access will be restricted to members.
There's a contest to win entries at the bottom of the page and another one here :
http://warp-absolut.musicblog.fr/

I don't want to be too optimistic but... maybe this time is the right one.
Just crossing my fingers !

warp shenanigans.

EDIT: I don't mean that it's definitely one thing or another, just that it's warp shenanigans.

Firstly, welcome Jean-Noel. I hope my post wasn't misinterpreted as being negative? Wasn't meant that way at all, but reading it again it might have appeared rude? Anyway, welcome :D

So people, what do we make of this? Restricted access, special previews 3 months before release, unnamed artist... why all the smoke and mirrors if it isn't BOC? Oh man, I so want to believe don't I? I really need to start pulling some of these fish hooks from my mouth... lol

i feel like a giddy little school girl!!!

haha watch it be another new prefuse 73 or some crap like that...

but really... it seems to me like all signs point to boc.
they wouldnt make this big of a deal unless it was one of their big, big artists...

rdj is off the label, right? it seems like the only people worth this much of a big deal are afx, squarepusher, ae, plaid or boc

Well, Plaid are playing in Holland on that date according to their website, so it's probably not them. You wouldn't miss you own album preview would you? And their new album is called Scintilli, so it wouldn't be much of a big reveal.

It's another album of versions from Quaristice.
Actually I wouldn't mind. 8)

If this were a BOC thing and it was released right smack dab in the middle of summer, I'd have to cream myself.

Nop sir, it's a shame, but last month Scott Herren revealed he (as P73) is not a Warp artist anymore!... read it here you Prefuse fans -if any-

So.... the list's a little shorter now, hehe

What's with all the Prefuse 73 hate? He's got some awesome songs.

I hope you're not refering to me, because there's no hate at all for my part.

I LOVE Prefuse 73 so much. Not only he's got some awesome songs but entire LPs, like One Word Extinguiser or EPs like 92vs02 Collection.

All my respect for Guillermo. The departure from Warp as P73 are just sad news.
