I was wondering this. Does it mean they are literally just playing the album once, from start to finish, live. And that's it. Rather than a stream for 24 hours or whatever?

I don't think there's any ambiguity about it really. There will be a broadcast of the full album at the allotted time on Monday. Connect to the website, hear the album. That's about it.

i think you are right, but why even put the word "live" in there? It would still be just an album transmission. Who knows, whoever is responsible for the event probably really didn't think about it much and certainly didn't figure that anyone would pick it apart word by word

So it's just played once? Starting at a specific time? i.e. if I tune in late, it will start playing half way through for example. Or will I be able to play it from the beginning regardless of when I tune in?

agreed. pushing audio is one thing but you'll need a substantially larger pipe to push a full uninterrupted hour of video.
i appreciate some want to wait (for a lot of good reasons) but i do think this is a very special way to let the whole world have a collective listening party at the exact same time. its a sweet gift in my opinion.

i prefer the live transmission artwork to that of the album cover artwork...just sayin

Its clear to me that they have a grasp of what's going on. Bleep might have died but its an app, which has to do processing. Pushing a file out to even a hundred thousand clients require prolly only a modest number of "cloud" servers like they had for the cosecha video. This is not a big technical challenge, in other words, so that's good news. I'll be listening

i honestly think it's going to be the brothers themselves playing the album live from somewhere. we wont see them just hear it. like a radio broadcast

That's why Youtube and Ustream exist. They just need to upstream the video from their source which is gonna be connected through broadband not an iPhone w/ 3G in the desert (:

Lol, the "BOC playing live" possibility has been discussed for almost any "new" event (together with the "hey, I smell early release here" hypothesis) ... they won't play it live, come on. It will clearly be a streaming and that's it.

YES I'm out of school for the summer, so I'm free to see it!

Maybe I'll find a way to record it for all the people that will miss it? Anyone wanna help with this?

One thing is for certain.. and by certain I mean fairly certain, you know like, almost positively absolutely maybe.
Anyway, digital download will come out shortly after the broadcast, perhaps by the next day, kind of maybe. At least before the Japanese release. I hope.
Probably.

A small portion of my brain grasped on to this for a second, then it was like "yeahhhh not likely"

A UK listening party would have meant a lot more, but then what can you do? You announce a date for release but have to be prepared to give it away a week earlier.
i think i'll wait it out

I'm pretty convinced that the Japanese release date has made the online album transmission and maybe an early download release a necessity. Warp know the nature of the Internet (and BoC fans) and know that so many people would be scrabbling to illegally download rips of the Japanese release. Far better to at least retain some control of the situation. If it worked well for Ae earlier this year then why not?

My hope when I first heard this - especially "Live Transmission" from my Warpbot email - made me think how amazing would it be if the Bro's gave a little personal intro (even recorded - and voice only) before the album played???
Thoughts?

I don't really need to have them speak to us about anything, i wouldn't find that to be an enhancement. The new album is good enough. I remember most of our BOC state of mind just a few months earlier when none of this had happened yet. I am happy for the new material.

No offense to them, but if I had my choice between a digital download and hearing their dulcet tones, I'd choose the download. An interview about the album would be cool (likely in print) but right now my eyes are on the prize of hearing this album. Or my ears I guess. I don't really see them doing a radio talk, though I wouldn't turn it down.
