Would have been the first thing I did after watching it, had I received one! Shocking indeed nobody has dared. It isn't that complex to disassemble and then reassemble a VHS tape without damaging it.

Yeah, they totally had accesss to American McDonald’s training videotapes in Scotland back in the early 1980s

I hope this track will get a release on streaming services in the future, for practical reasons. I want to be able to listen to the entire album on my walks!

My running theory (which changes daily) is this track was supposed to go after 'Blood in the Labyrinth' before 'Deep Time'. It fits nicely IMO if you imagine it with the same kind of mastering and makes the cut less harsh. Also running in that theory is it was removed from the final cut because Warp got scared of the McDonald's sample hence the music70 only

I could absolutely see that! I kind of feel like I can hear a much higher quality of the swirling hiss starting up at the fade out of BITL. I am also convinced something was absolutely supposed to go in between there. Coincidentally, tin foil hat style, if you add up all the numbers in the title it adds up to 19...and there are 18 tracks on Inferno. Nothing crazy, but I did find that interesting.

My theory is that some of this was taken from the first cassette that Boards put together. MDG mentioned here at least twice that the Boards' tape archive goes back to 1983. So I reckon this is from that tape with some new synth drones.

I agree! I have a general feeling that if we ever heard their 5 pre-Twoism albums or other old things, we would hear some material that amounts to early takes of things that are woven into their new material. I have a feeling we will never hear those old albums. They almost function like the corner around a mirror's reflection that you'll always wonder about but never quite see. The mystery is more important than the hearing!

In just over a week's time, I have to travel up to Scotland to a place not that far from the Pentland hills, to attend my brother's funeral.

That old McDonald's training film sample is really hitting hard right now.

Thank you so much. I only put on the Youtube video to work out the chords on it, but it just got me there and then.

In case anyone is interested the chords are: C major / G# major / B major / G major, a continuous slow four bar loop.
