I was a big Warp fan back in the 90's and when MHTRTC came out it blew me away and have bought everything they have done since.

I'd heard Twoism and liked it, but it wasn't until MHTRTC and, oddly, Kaini Industries where I think it clicked. My roommates and I wore a hole in the MHTRTC cd and for a couple years I thought I'd OD'd on it. Now I'm certain I could put it on endless loop all the way to the grave.

I heard a loop of theirs on the internet but didn't know who made it at the time. A couple years later (2002) I was going to a Native American boarding school in Riverside, Ca and I found their Geogaddi album at a local music store called Sounds Like Music and I thought the cover art was pretty intriguing, so I bought the cd. I also remember seeing the Chemical Brothers new cd right next to it and noticed how the covers looked almost the same and thought it was funny, and I'm glad I picked Geogaddi instead.
I also remember seeing tons of the vinyl for Geogaddi and DrukQs lined up on their wall at the time but never purchased any, which I still regret so much to this day.

I was only 16, please forgive me. Lol
Anyways, I put it in my CD player immediately after I left the store and started to ride back to school on my skateboard and that's when I heard Ready Lets Go and it stop me in my tracks. I thought it sounded so different than anything I heard in a while. I listen to the rest of the album and was hooked from then on.
On another side note, I remember my CD player at the time was a old red Sony Walkman that had a huge Spitfire flame head sticker covering the lid, and when ever I played Geogaddi, the display screen would read out 66:06 before the cd started. I thought that was so rad! hahaha

Everything You Do Is A Balloon.
I was at a mate's in 2000 and he'd made a CD compilation of stuff out on Warp at the time. Before he stuck it on we both did 2 litre waterfalls of fairly shit hash which from what I can remember were pretty harsh. We were completely cabbaged afterwards but managed to get the music on. Whatever was playing to begin with was the usual aural aid to our waffling about inane uninteresting things until EYDIAB came on... My heart just burst. It was like a visitation. It felt so personal and seemed to give every emotion I felt more meaning. I'll never forget it. To this day I feel grateful that BOC have released any music at all.

I always looked through the electronic section and would occasionally buy random albums by artists I had never heard of before simply based off the artwork and song titles... I remember picking up Boards albums and being really interested by the aesthetic but I never actually bought one. This went on for years. I was always a Beck fan and when Guero came out I naturally got the deluxe edition and when I heard the BoC Remix of Broken Drum.... it was urgent that I go and listen to Boards of Canada. I went to YouTube and Everything You Do Is a Balloon was the first video that came up at the time. I was entranced. That song and video are so perfect. I must have watched it 60 times that week. Funny thing was as soon as I had money, I bought Campfire Headphase, not High Scores. Fell in love with it and subsequently bought the rest of their albums and Eps and went searching the internet for all the unreleased stuff. All within about two weeks, I had everything. Turned out that Hi Scores, though, became my favorite album/EP.

Sunshine Recorder. My college roommate was playing all of Geogaddi while we were both in our dorm room. I was mostly tuning it out (though the whole thing is now my favorite album by far), but once Sunshine Recorder came on I knew it was something profound. Alpha and Omega also stood out on that passive listen.
