Let's get back to the speculation aspect, theories, even imaginative leaping.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Well, as stated, you should always begin at one. CM luckily supplied you with said one. Work backwards from there, but with a slight angle.Roswell wrote:These posts are hard to keep up with, I don't even know where to begin. What are you guys up too?Cosmic Manta wrote: 1

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I still think it's possible that they release, or rather announce the new album just like that, without any ARGs, games, riddles, etc. That what they did with all the releases except TH, after all.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Yeah it's definitely possible, it sure would be tough to top the craziness of the TH pre-release. If I had to speculate, I'd say they've actually finished the album at this point. They are ostensibly mastering it in a meticulous fashion, making sure everything is perfect to them.
Remember this quote: "We're definitely vintage hardware freaks. We've always used older gear. Everything we use is decrepit. Our studio is full of wooden things covered with red LEDs. We'll go to great lengths to get hold of a specific instrument just to get a particular sound. For example, there's a sound in Cold Earth (Tomorrow's Harvest) that is something like only one second of audio. It comes from an obscure old effect unit that cost us a lot of time and road miles to source, and it ended up being one second of audio on the record."
If I had to guess, they are probably doing stuff like that right about now; adding little tidbits onto an already 99.5% complete album. They have always been exceptional composers when it comes down to telling a story through music. All of their albums thus far have had seamless flow, from start to finish. There is not a doubt in my mind that the next release will prove that opinion. I think that the brothers probably get quite the kick out of adding the little tidbits onto their music, fun things like back-masking opportunities, hidden messages, strange and obscure voice-lines, and all that jazz. Like we can infer from the aforementioned quote, it seems that their choice of hardware is very important to their process of musical compositions. They literally went through all that effort for one second of audio. The world hasn't seen such meticulous musicians since Lugwig van Beethoven (he counted exactly 60 beans of coffee each morning)

Album release has always been hard-coded into the forum to trigger automatically when Cups turns 10,000.Pseudodionizy wrote:I still think it's possible that they release, or rather announce the new album just like that, without any ARGs, games, riddles, etc. That what they did with all the releases except TH, after all.

oh to be a fly on their 10ft thick bunker wall
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Man, isn't that the truth. I know they are perfectionists, but I can't help but dream of hearing everything they work on, even if to them it is not up to snuff. I really can't exclaim enough how special BoC is to me. Certainly my favourite musical act outside of the world of classical music (which is virtually all I listen to, besides some jazz and a handful of modern artists)Echo the Sun wrote:oh to be a fly on their 10ft thick bunker wall
Opothecary, any number crunching going on?

A wild fake has appeared.
Seriously why would people make so many fakes?

Haha that is an incredibly bad transfer, as it goes. There is genuinely a part of it that fades into computer static because (I am guessing) they had their tape player right next to their PC when recording it. Nothing that gives it away as a fake as much as that.Flory wrote: A wild fake has appeared.

Edit: Listen to the 5.9.78 fade out if you want to know what I mean.
