the RSD releases and the youtube hints were not repeated. so why didn't they spread those messages wide and far 2 even 3 times? no reason cos... the message was clear.
everyone makes mistake, even live on stage but you have to improvise and try to overcome so the show can go on and make it look like it was all part of the act and hope the audience falls for it - a lot have here. lets face it, a lot of this is new venture. they might have needed to test the audible quality from inside a building but forgot about street noise from drunks/traffic on the receiving end. i doubt they got to practice this one, it showed.

^this makes a lot of sense actually. seems more likely that the shop display would be intented to have some interest/relevance for the average person walking by who might see it and get a sense that there's a new boards of canada album on the horizon and then go on their way, as opposed to the small group of message board users huddled around the storefront, trying to catch a glimpse of a suspicious piece of rebar or a telltale cactus in the projection. from a marketing standpoint, the latter is not a very broad target audience.

It's expectedly difficult to distinguish a solid lead from a dead end when descending down the BoC rabbit hole.
Really hope something turns up from this.

again...you are dealing with a large money making business. those slots are filled well in advance.
this was planned.
and, bumpers are 10 - 15 sec promos for upcoming shows. this is an advertisement as far as my dealings in the business have been. and a long one at that. 15 and 30 ads are the norm as we all know. with the occasional 1 min spot. but 1.5 min advert....she's a long one.

I swear that if some of you were handed a brick of gold, you'd complain that it wasn't diamond. I am ecstatic and thankful for what's happening, and I can't wait to see what comes next. Just happy to be here for it.

i would venture that most people on a boards of canada forum would be ecstatic and thankful for a new boards of canada album, especially after 8 years. i know i am. but this is a fan forum and that means complaining, analyzing, theorizing and arguing. some of it is super embarrassing to read but some of it is really interesting and revealing. i think you can be excited about something and still engage in a critical dialog about it.

Someone on the reddit thread pointed out that the intro to the Adult Swim ad was reversed. Sure enough. I've uploaded it here:
Is anything buried in there? Curious. I hear some muffled random possible numberstationy numbers, but can someone enhance that and see what's up? Maybe there's some clue hidden deeper?
I didn't think much of it, but a comment was made in a bocpages fb thread that the Toonami/Adult Swim people alleged this was the final clue (whatever that's worth), so.. maybe
???

I fumbled around with the speed/pitch for a little bit and the results were.. inconclusive, to say the least.
