So, Glasgow last night....
I've been going to gigs for the best part of 20 years. I've seen some incredible ones & had some incredible experiences.
Last night was by far the best I've ever been to. Absolutely astounding - they sounded exactly like you'd want them to. It was a totally immersive experience - just pure sound. No let up.
Highlights were:
a BRUTAL Feed Me With Your Kiss
You Made Me Realise - 10 minute holocaust section was the most intense experience I've had at a gig. The guy next to me spent the entirety of it laughing his head off; others looked terrified. It was an incredible PHYSICAL experience.
To Here Knows When - just sounding like the most psychedelic thing ever
Wonder 2 as an encore - Colm played guitar too, although at one point during it Kevin, Bilinda, Colm and Deb just stood, apparently not doing anything while the tune roared on.
I'm jealous of everyone seeing them later this week. I want to experience it again.
Top tip - you're not too cool for earplugs. I had mine in for about 1/2 the show. I drove my toddler to his swimming lesson this morning and couldn't hear the car.

Mate, I am so incredibly excited and even more annoyed I let that spare ticket go haha. Oh well, someone else got to lose their MBV virginity the other night, she said she loved it so thats the main thing.
Glad you had a good time mate, I am taking my earplugs for sure haha.

They were great last night.
I probably should have worn the earplugs, but my experience with that holocaust section was that it got very gradually louder and only after it had stopped did I realise the full extent of just how crazy it makes your entire body feel.
I think the main highlight for me was 'Cigarette In Your Bed'. The blasts of noise during 'Only Shallow' were really something too, that was a case of them adapting something from Loveless really effectively to a live performance (significant because it was the tracks from the EPs, Isn't Anything and m b v that I thought worked better played live).

^ yeah, I got that feeling about halfway through To Here Knows When that I might need the plugs.
You're right about it making you feel weird. It's not just your ears, it's a very physical sensation. My whole head felt woozy. I've never been to a gig that affected my sinuses before...

I could feel it vibrating in my neck.

Okay, wow. Best time i've seen them
That was incredible. The Isn't Anything sounds era songs sounded a bit more ferocious in my opinion. The holocaust was sonic! Loveless songs were beautiful and the new stuff fits in perfectly.
So jealous and in a kinda post euphoric come down now

Seeing my absolute favourite band, being excited about it for so long, and now it's past by so quickly. I wish I was seeing them again tonight.
They must tour the UK again soon!
