is there any link between BBC Radio 1 and "synthesizer"?

i mean, we can say that synthesizer is related to music and music is related to radio but... come on!

I was a little shaky on that too, that seems to probably be the best guess. Since we KNOW that's the 6th number, I guess it's irrelevant. I still say 1977 (the first number) will be on TV today.

Well on the other thread, somebody else predicted that an ad could air during 10 O Clock Live on Channel 4 tonight. And (clutching at straws) at least two of the hosts have...beards.

Radio1 had the xxxxxx in the 6th position...

It could be that the AtalantaFugiens video has scrambled the description though, and it's up to us fans to match the sequence.

it very well could be that 2 of the clues come from TV, the same way 2 came from radio and 2 (more or less) came from the internet/social media.

Very interesting stuff. It's like we're spies in the field, receiving the information. Love this

Well there was/is the BBC radiophonic workshop, which was somewhat of a pioneer in electronic music, with people like Delia Derbyshire, Daphne Oram, John Baker, among others. The Dr. Who theme song was made there.

Another clutch at straws here - could NPR be related to 1977? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Associati ... o_Stations
The Association of Public Radio Stations was a radio network in the United States from 1973 to 1977.
It was formed on May 24, 1973, becoming the main public radio representative to federal agencies and Congress after National Educational Radio (NER) dissolved in June 1973. In 1977 it merged with National Public Radio (NPR), which was then primarily a distributor of radio content. It was only after this merger that NPR became the broader public radio body it is today.

Can we lay the whole "1977 / snow / computing / amateur footage / beards / synthesizer" thing to rest, please. It's tenuous at best.

PS having listened to the rip of the 12", http://www.tunescoop.com/play/313832303139/936557-mp3 , the background fuzz is definitely made out of a recording of the Cherry Ripe numbers station. Not only in terms of the call-sign melody, but also at 0:09 the repeated tones that are played right before the 'message' segment.

There are also recognisable parts from other numbers stations in the other messages. I'd say they're just there for flavour, though.

Yeah, I've been reading all these threads since this whole mess started and I still don't understand how the hell someone got THAT from the numbers. At least wait until we have the entire sequence before the true batshit-crazy ideas start flying

I guess there is every chance that AtalantaFugiens just happened to use those particular words as tags for the Julie & Candy video.

those words appeared AFTER the record was found. I think the earlier clues (computing and amateur footage) match up better, but I suppose its hard to find good words to tie into radio broadcasts. I think the TV ones will be more obvious (yes, I really think there will be 2 TV clues)

Seeing as the video has been there since late 2009, I'd say that's the case. Clearly they've been planning this for a while, but I think saying that they've been planning it for that long is a stretch. They would have had to plan the rest of the hunt around those words.

Not true. Some additional words appeared after, but snow / computing / amateur etc has been there for years.

All those people left when synths came in because they loved musique concrete so much and couldn't get on with the more limited palette.

I don't get this match either for sure but Radio 1 is an FM station and frequency synthesis is one possible feature of FM demodulation used in phase-locked-loops. Also there are FM synths in music of course. I'm not saying this is anything, just that there are tenuous links there if you look.

You guys manipulating the numbers, plotting coordinates and figuring out hex values are amazing.

But I’m guessing this is simpler than all of that. It seems they are broadcasting their own numbers station. Numbers stations are uncrackable if they use a one time pad for deciphering. My guess is this code will be cracked the same way a numbers station message is decoded – using a decryption pad that would have to be given to us somehow. Without that pad, I’m guessing it would be impossible to decode it.

Has anyone considered the possibility that the images they displayed during the infamous Red Moon Incident may be the one time pad or otherwise be related to this?

Image

Note in the “eyes” image, the red moon is reversed making the double zero appear on the right side of the image. Could that be an instruction to reverse the fourth hint broadcast on NPR yesterday – 699742?

Could the numbers displayed under the moon and under the eyes be the pad needed to solve boc’s number station? if so, all we need to do is figure out how the number sets correspond to the pad and we can begin decoding. we don't need all 6 to begin.

Hey Alzado! Old times etc.

My doctor told me not to look at those code again. :(

Did those red moon numbers ever come to anything?

The numbers arranged against the picture make me think of a radio station's logo, where they tell you the frequency of the station.

For a couple of days now i've thought that the little boc "attention" loop at the start has the same melodic sequence as this; http://freemusicarchive.org/music/The_C ... czech_lady they've taken it apart and made it their own, in a similar way to the little "A-Team" riff in "Oscar See Through Red Eye" which was dissected by Enzzi ; https://soundcloud.com/enzzi/84-research

The red moon code was never conclusively solved. That said the eyes code did contain something that could be quite easily decoded as co-ordinates to a beach on the east coast of Scotland. For some reason most people refused to believe this. One guy posted somewhere that he went and he provided a description of it. That post was lost a while back and again most people refused to belive it. Personally I thought it was true.

I may try and dig out the co-ordinates...
