Erg... I wish you lot would quite flogging this daft train of thought.
The album was sequenced by the band. Over 8 years. Their intention wasn't for it to be pulled apart & "re-interpreted" based on hidden messages.
That's the album. Listen to it & enjoy it. Why demand these cretinous desires of being involved & adding to it?

Hahaha. Interesting take. A lot of people have been pointing out that noise. It's probably just a muffled electrical fizzle sound. Right now I can't stop hearing it as the sound of someone smoking a cigarette or joint. I keep imagining it being an awesomely lame attempt by Boards at being cool and it keeps cracking me up. Oh god...

Cretinous? Seriously? Why not let people have their fun, and you have yours?
Part of the fascination in BoC for some has been finding the hidden stuff, and other people doing this surely doesn't hurt you in such a fashion that you have to resort to calling peoples' desires cretinous, right?
tldr: Wind your neck in.

the beginning of new seeds sounds like the noise your computer makes the second or two before your cell phone rings

New Seeds is also one of my fav tracks. What are those seeds? I've read somewhere that (considering the apocalyptic feel of the album) it might refer to GMO seeds:D That's why all I can now visualize while listening to that track is a process of vegetables and fruit's automatic mass production. It's that repetitiveness of that speakers' buzz sound. I see millions of carrots and tomatoes moving on conveyor belts:D

I don't know if someone mentioned this already but there are water drops sampled on this track which repeat the main rhythm. Also, could it be related to Gemini that way?

You are not ruining anything, I just find this interpretation funny. Besides, IMO music is above all to be listened, not to be written about.

After many listens I have come to the conclusion that this is the only "BoC song" on this record. By that I mean, the only song up to BoC standards in full. It is by far the best track on the album, and if the rest of the album sounded more like it, Tomorrow's Harvest would be album of the year and a brilliant piece of work.

I think Nothing is Real might have something to say about that.

I held the opinion that Nothing is Real was the best track after my first listen.
Then I realized just how old that song gets on repeated listens. It's so repetitive that it becomes so utterly uninteresting very quickly (for me at least). New Seeds was fresh, stayed fresh. It belongs on a proper record that matches its level of quality...stick it somewhere in TCH and you're close enough. Even though I feel it deserves peers higher than that. It's a 9/10 song. A 9/10 song stuck on an album of tracks mostly hovering around 5-6-6.5/10

Well I'll have to disagree with you. That's the beauty of music, and BoC in particular. Everyone hears and interprets songs in his/her own way. After what's probably over 100 listens by now, Nothing is Real STILL gives me goosebumps. It's far and away my favorite on the album, and possibly my favorite BoC track of all time.
New Seeds is as well, but it doesn't impact me the way Nothing is Real does. To me, no song on the album is below an 8/10. The short tracks are probably the albums weaker point, IMO. I think Campfire has the best short tracks out of all their albums. But again, everyone has their own opinion. There's no right or wrong.

as i stated in another thread
rodheh has opinions on tomorrows harvest which are very negative, so that might be tough for some people on here to digest. but i have to agree with a lot of the points he is making. the repetition on this album is overboard. split your infinities starts off absolutely amazing, then after about 3 minutes you start to wonder if someone put the track on loop. its not just split your infinities though, its just about every track on the record. even new seeds, i love this track as well, but again, after a while it sounds like its on loop.
its weird though, i find the tracks on tomorrows harvest to be overly repetitive, but yet i find myself coming back to this album over and over.

The exchange leading to that sentiment nailed it for me.
When 'Reach for the Dead' broke, I was so excited...the familiar drone opening, the beat like a signal that they're back, the organic synthline opening up more layers, the buildup being its own climax (reminded me of Fehlmann), the peaceful cooldown, everything about it.
When the full album released, I loved it of course, but after like the 4th listen I caught myself thinking "man the album is a little more (emotional?sad?) than I'd hoped". I didn't mind the repetitiveness as much, I heard that as a kind of inner reflection, I was just wishing it was a little more upbeat, had a couple more positive spots at least.
It took that discussion right there to realize what was really going on though. The way we "create meaning" has that obvious relation to music, and it's even one of the things people seem to love when they make music (how others remake it for themselves when they listen). It's always been especially that way with BOC to me. There's more involved though I think, and you guys nailed it.
I wasn't just wishing the album was more upbeat, I was keeping *myself* a little more upbeat, and I didn't want to be "dragged down" by the mood it was evoking. Then I asked myself why. And it's that same thing: how we "create the meaning", kinda. I don't mean to get personal, but the everyday life things going on right now around me could easily "drag me down". I caught myself doing that sort of swimming upstream we all go through sometimes to stay above challenging things that happen. It's sort of the reality I'm making right now. It's so involuntary how we do this, and it colors *everything*. Things seem how they seem based on it. And of course how I'm hearing music. I'm not sure the album will ever sound as upbeat as I was hoping for, but at some point I think I'll stop hoping. I'll just enjoy the feeling it creates.
This track is making that easier. It's hard for me to not hear positivity in it...one of the few places in the album for me. I love the sort of balanced two-sidedness to it, the first half with that rambling textural pulse at the forefront (ya so 14a-ish!) and deep smooth sounds behind, then a switching of places in the second half, but all with a nice feel of fresh, positive depth...not sure how else to say it. Love it already, and usually it takes longer for me.
ps to Vordhosbn: you sound just as good at half speed

I went into this on Reddit, but I agree there's a hope and a happiness that comes in with that shift in tone in the middle, but actually that Cosecha jingle on the fade out that pierces that completely. We know it from the prerelease game where it introduced the disembodied numbers-station voice, which gives the mental picture of it being an automated system left behind by a dead civilisation after the collapse, which we now know is the theme of the album.
In context of this track you've got an album of bleak material then this one track that suddenly blooms into a hopeful thing (it is more "hope" than "happiness" in that second part I think) and then just as you get a handle on that it fades out and the little jingle appears. It's like a reminder that whatever hope there was didn't come to anything, the collapse still happened. Then we get that theme picked up again with Semena Mertvykh.
