This is really great news for anyone who hasn't had the chance to get their mitts on the records.

I already have all of them, I only started collecting them a year ago, I've been able to track down each album for less than £45 and every EP for less than £15.

All of this has me thinking that the money I spent never went to band, the only time that I have done was Tomorrow's Harvest...

Is it stupid to even consider selling the originals and buying the represses? Or am I being a wank? Haha

I was hoping that they would change the packaging for Geogaddi! I am interested to see what the changes are . Also glad they didn't repress Trans Canada on white and IABPOITC on blue, keeping the first pressings special.

I also wounder if they changed the etching on side F from the nuclear family to something else.

I think what will happen is that the originals will take a dive in value for a while but will eventually start going for more than they are right now. Think if i owned originals, i'd be holding onto them for the next few years at least. Saw a copy of Campfire Headphase go for £230 on eBay a couple of weeks ago - hope that guy is either very rich or doesnt ever find out about these new represses.

How much of a discount do those who preordered TH get?

Maybe he is interested in only having First Pressings. It will turn into a good investment in the long run, if ever decides to sell them. The originals will most likely go down a little bit in price. But I agree they will retain their values in the long run.

$3 off the ep/mini album bundle and $5 off the album bundle... so $8. better than nothing you whiners

Tempted to buy another set of each in order to make some money off them in 10 years or so. Or do we reckon this is gonna be huge reissue numbers?

I own the originals of all these but will be buying them again so I can take them out DJing without having a heart attack.

Hi Scores reissue is making me salivate.

Why do you think the originals will retain their value in the long run? If the artwork and sound quality is nearly identical, I don't see many reasons.. I think the main reason for the high price has been that people want to own a vinyl copy in the first place, which was a rare thing until now.

It isn't a 'what pressing' or profit issue for me, Boards of Canada are one of my favourite bands, if the repressing never came about I'd never consider selling them. Now that they have, the temptation to sell them and give money directly back to the band is highly tempting, as is having mint copies of the records.

But then again why would anyone want to buy these instead of the represses?

All first pressings retain their value to a collector. Definitely the colored white and blue vinyls.

But to such a high degree as now? I can't see this happening, if alternatives are a cheaper repress or pinching hundreds for a different coloured vinyl and other minor differences. It's just too obsessive.
