8/10 on a generous day, 7 and a half on most. It's certainly a good track. There's a sense of scale to it...feels like a melody echoing through a canyon. At least in my mind.
Also, I can't help but always laugh at Powerline Misfortune. Just the name. I can't help it. It's like this sad song and I feel there's some sort of dark comedy to the title, like some dude fell and was electrocuted in a really clumsy way.

It's a good tune from r35tt, I like the June 9th drum beat a lot. The errie typical early boc synth lines work well with the tune, but for me it's not one of the best early boc songs.
Also I always thought the last part of old tunes vol 2 was about some death of a magic teen kid called alexander, when he licks a pylons apparatus and dies (yeah I'm weird)

So much BOC material conjures up nostalgic images of nature, movies, television etc. This is kinda like a build up or chase sequence in a Michael Mann movie or an episode of Miami vice . the rhythm track reminds me of Eno's later dabblings with Byrne or his own Nerve Net/juju space jazz period. it's quite a distinctive piece and really stands out from a lot of the early stuff. There are so many great tracks from the Early Period.

Displays a lot of technical ability and alters perception but not the kind of feeling I attach myself to boards for. Quite isolating to me for some reason.

Kind of in that Tears From the Compound Eye category being longer than a vignette but just all melody. Interesting track.

8/10 Alpha Rainbow oh gosh. It sounded allot more impressive when I was 16, but that is one nostalgia laden track. Simple, elegant and really really effective.

Sounds very much like a Melodies from Mars-esque Aphex Twin cut.

So thumpy and complex, desperate and bittersweet, some grade A classic traditional beat programming. The final minute where they show off their beatslicing powers is hilarious and cool as hell.

Great sounding synth and beat. Sounds almost like the aural rendition of a great LSD trip.

I LOVE Forest Moon.
The drum beat is tight, the synth line is eerie yet bright, but most of all, it has got that old tunes sound to it (obviously) and I love this sound to bits. One of the jolly good songs from AFOT, along with 5/9/78 and king of carnival.

Really eerie track and one that gives me a very different feeling than the rest of their work. That goes for all of Old Tunes 2.
Speaking of which, does anyone else think that about OT2? It still sends shivers down my spine for that reason.

Nice beat, and love the funky-ish vibe to it. A little dissonant for me, though.

Can't rate it.
Haven't 'gotten' it yet really. It doesn't do much for me, but I really do need to listen to it more. I think the metal inspired drums are putting me off a little.

Zoetrope...
A very cute track, a little simple, but it's supposed to be minimalist, I guess.
A version with drums and bass could be very cool...

Has a cool glitzy commercial aesthetic mixed in with classic Boards sampling. The beautiful guitar vingette at the end makes it one of BoC's most memorable and relaxing tracks

8/10 classic BoC track, Hi Scores gem (Twoism version is nice as well). More upbeat in tone than the other songs surrounding it.

10 / 10. A standard. What's to say that's not already been said? Dark, menacing, perfectly understated yet completely compelling. A yardstick against which other BOC should be measured and as close to perfect as I've heard, even after all this time.

A fantastic ambient track, 7/10. Always sounded much better within the album instead of on its own. It's definitely one of the parts of that album that stands out as more "impressive" than anything else. Admittedly, it's one of the weaker parts of Campfire IMO. Solange's version of it honestly was quite good too.

10/10 One of my favourite BOC tunes. So simple and just gets your groove going when you hear it. I'd love to hear it in a Hip Hop tune with a massive 909 Beat that kicks in.
