Yeah, they go for dark clothing more. Just have a hat and midge net you can wear over your face and long sleeves/trousers. They're only tiny, but when they attack they attack in large numbers and drive you mad!! ;-)

Also, all my clothes are dark. Heard something about that.

Don't think I'll be too afraid of the midges though. As hard as they drink, I can drink harder. Though of course - not underestimating them. I'll expect the absolute worst and just hope for the fairly bad.
The thing is, the midges just love us drinking alcohol . Go back to page 5 for my explanation why.

What can we do? Drinking outdoors is so enjoyable in a beautiful environment and especially round a roaring campfire :)

Nope, they are a real thing. Not mosquitos. They are different from other midges.

Hope for low humidity and windy conditions.

oh, that makes sense; it's a whole different thing. i thought you guys meant that midges from scotland somehow developed a taste for blood or something lol

So, I've said this in the Dorset thread post-meet but I suppose I'll post it once in here as well: Aerial Boundaries and myself are in Edinburgh until the 10th and have pretty much nothing other than "acquire midge protection" on the concrete agenda. Anyone around wanting to get a drink or something, let us know. This may be slightly boring.

Though there is a wealth of absolutely beautiful things to see here....

Hi guys

I know it's short notice but sadly I'm going to have to pull out as I have to deal with a couple of personal matters.

I hope I've not let anyone down and I'm sure that everyone going will have a superb time.

I look forward to seeing the photos and meeting up with you again on future meet ups

Fantastic evening. Lots of love to everyone from a cottage in the misty hills of knoydart, and huge thanks to Tech for organising and Rod for getting me here at great expense.

Wish I could have made it to one of these. I had every intention when they were announced, but holiday plans got in the way - funnily enough I was just down the road in Cornwall last Saturday.

Hehe. What a manic trip back to London. It was only thanks to a classic sob story and the kindness of the ticket inspector that we weren't forced to buy our tickets all over again.

All sorted now, should be home in a bit. Feels like I haven't slept in years.

Pretty balanced little vacation I'd say: hills, Glaswegians, haggis, money trouble, good mates, beer. Sorted :]

How are the wilds treating you Mikey?
