I also really like the T-Shirt the kid is wearing in the photo. It looks like the giant monkey from the Moon Safari videos by Air.
that shirt also reminds of TH artwork btw,
yeah I also dig such collaboration, still can't believe this is fresh boc and I really like that I hear, can't wait when they comeback and school some folks again

Don't forget Tunde! TV on the Radio have some of the most raw vocals on their albums.
yes! absolutely. I didn't mention him while writing that strong feeling i posted because I'm not familiar with him like I am with Patton and especially Dose. I know him and Why? are on a track from Odd Nosdam's Level Live Wires. Incredible album.

I was thinking this

But yeah replace the buildings in the foreground with the San Francisco skyline from TH and we've got a winner!

I would buy that t-shirt, I hope they start selling it when the album comes out.

The video, to me, illustrates first the somberness of the decay and slowly shows one that the gradual reconciliation of nature in this abandoned landscape is in fact a very beautiful process that creates a combination of man made and natural beauty that can be found nowhere else. I think you did a wonderful job on this and I will be saving it to a playlist (:

That, while the park it self was all about transportation, something not perticulary in favour of nature. It made me sad when I watched the original footage for the first time, but now I think that where this was first a playground for children, it's now a playground for nature.

My sentiments exactly. Again, very well done on the video. It is professional looking without marginalising your artistic input.

well this came as a surprise. course missed the launch and arrived 8 hours late. the choice is a surprise too, granted theyre a new group but their members aren't. Its also interesting on here to read all the various opinions, amazing how others pick up things differently. At 00:24 when those vocals come in, co-existing where BOC have taken it more into this electronic sphere, i couldn't help but feel reminded of Massive Attack w/ Horace Andy, perhaps something off 100th Window.
Id be curious, considering its a new group, what made them take up this and remix it. Id imagine they get lots of offers to remix.
Aside from distant TH vibes on synths etc, combined with this vocal, its almost like a more accessible style again i.e. TCampfireH this time mixed with TH. Wasn't that discussed in 2005, that album was described like MHTRTC but more accessible, more polished?
Anyways, mad times indeed. These brothers are so unpredictable which is great! Its sure damn catchy them vocals, anyone got the lyrics to it yet? Perhaps it was the words alone that took them to task. I hear the words 'nuclear winter' in there too.

oops can't re-edit last post 2 avoid double post. just listened to the original of this. its horrible, definitely don't like that. theres nothing really there but the vocals at forefront and are typical patton off the wall. brave lads to have taken this one but i think they did a good job. a lot of remixes can be on same level or worse than original, this one is a whole new vibe.

Does the 3:40 flute sample remind anyone of 3:53 or so in You Could Feel the Sky, with the tribal chant and the weird flute like sample?
Also, the end of the track, where it begins to fade, the bat-like noises remind me of the samples in the Dirty Great Mable remix
lovely stuff

NEVERMEN is Mike Patton, Tunde Adebimpe and Doseone (Adam Drucker)
Adam Drucker is also a member of cLOUDDEAD
Boards of Canada remixed 'Dead Dogs Two' by cLOUDDEAD
Yoni Wolf is a member of cLOUDDEAD
Boards of Canada remixed 'Good Friday' by Why? (Yoni Wolf)
David Madson is a member of cLOUDDEAD
Odd Nosdam (David Madson) remixed 'Dayvan Cowboy' by Boards of Canada
This is probably linked to why they chose to remix this particular song.

I feel ya, buddy. It was the exact same thing for me. Tuesday was mega stressful where I was considering admitting myself into a hospital. The massive problem was solved toward the end of the day though, so no worries. Came home from a long day and was going straight to bed, but when I was about to set the alarm on my phone I noticed a notification on my phone of a new BoC song. I then didn't go to sleep until I had a method of having the song play on repeat for a while automatically. Felt pretty darn good about that.

NEW BOC!!!!
I really like this song a lot. Like, A LOT! The moral of the lyrics are pretty strong and brave and meaningful in telling it like it is, talking about corrupt people in corporations (i get that from them talking about making sure their "paper work is safe, for your fast paced gas phase" possibly jabbing at gas companies in particular) ruining life for the rest of humanity, even saying that "[They] got Satan." (The exact lyrical quote is: "We got Satan." but I'm sure they are making a symbolic quote of these corrupt people.) How could you state more boldly that there is terrible corruption in these selfish people who are running things? They are saying that this is leading to so much death (in that they repeat "death" so many times, sometimes in different ways, shows the varying ways and effects of the many victim's deaths) and also problems anywhere from a "splinter or a nuclear winter." But they don't care. If they choose "If it's between give and take" they end up deciding to "take, take, take."
And of coarse the lay out of the vocals is awesome. Everything else is absolutely fantastic: the synths, the percussion, everything! I will have to give this some time (read: a lot more time) before I can decide more accurately where this ranks in my favorite BoC songs. As of right now, it's right at the top. But as I've stated before, my favorite BoC song is usually whichever one is currently playing through my headphones, and this one is the only song I've listened to since I first heard it. So it's hard to tell right now. But the bottom line is that I LOVE it.

with such unique vocals....why do cLOUDEAD insist on doing music under so many different names....its fucking cLOUDEAD. its like Jason Alexander playing anything other than George....all you see is George no matter what roll he's in.
