As dark as it undeniably is, I can't help but feel there's a transcendent side to it. Sort of an alchemical forged in the fires kind of thing, like the trials every person must pass through to reach paradise, you know?waco wrote:is it strange to say i'm mixed on getting another dark boc album?
i've seen lots of people on the reddit saying "given how dark the world is..." and "we're in a shithole, so...", and while it may be true, i feel that maybe something which just re-affirms all that and tells you everything really is bad can't be that conducive to giving any kind of hope.
personally i feel like a hopeful album is what we need, but perhaps that's just what i want.
(also part of me wants to not have waited over a decade for 'nope, everything still shite in the world')
That sounds worth holding out for.A_Northern_Soul wrote:I'm tempted to hold out for an in-person purchase from Avalanche (who don't forget were involved in the Tomorrow's Harvest mystery 12" shenanigans)
yeah seems to be this case. it has been up and down though mostly down over the past hour or so...Frindia wrote:Is bleep just fucked right now? I’m at work and having a ton of trouble can’t read the thread atm
same here; i don't have many doubts that the music will be good, but the art direction of this release is something that may need to grow on me (personally).sleep wrote:really mixed on the font size here, hope we get a text-free version of the cover at some point
right, cos the ending of tape 05 really interested me. thinking about all the inclusion of the cult and religious imagery i'm wondering the more hopeful elements its incorporating are going to be presented in this divine, worshipping way. maybe it'll incorporate some elements of all previous 4 lps.Redd Panderson wrote:As dark as it undeniably is, I can't help but feel there's a transcendent side to it. I'd expect to see one or two new photos in the media runup to May 29th, just as they did for TH.Moloch wrote:I'm a bit sad we didn't get a new pic of the brothers.
Not dumb -- that's worth pointing out. The updated website has everything that the email from today had, but they still have 'register for first access', which, if there will be nothing more to access, is pointless.AuHr wrote:Sorry, I can be dumb. Obviously, email collection led to receiving release announcement. But odd that registration is still part of the new webpage/announcement.
Not only that, but a subscription implies recurring drops of some kind. They may go the route of dropping things piece-by-piece over time through that channel in lieu of a single boxsetegbdf wrote:Not dumb -- that's worth pointing out. Also funny that now the check box next to 'receive communications from warp records' is invisible (but still there).
i forget, did MDG ever say a bocset was in the works? i've been on here for a long time just lurking and vaguely remember he mentioned something about a bocset some time ago. if he did, i fully trust mdg now given that he was trying to tell us that there really is something new in the works for years lol. if he says a bocset is in the works i believe him.Redd Panderson wrote:Not only that, but a subscription implies recurring drops of some kind. So it may also be that Tape 05 was a tease for that half, the posters for Inferno
Definitely looking forward to the media rounds with some new interviews (if there's any music media left?!). Hopefully the good people at The Quietus are going to be included.Twoist wrote:I'd expect to see one or two new photos in the media runup to May 29th, just as they did for TH.Moloch wrote:I'm a bit sad we didn't get a new pic of the brothers.
