Didn't you say the exactly same thing about TCH when they put Satellite Anthem Icarus up on Bleep?
No. Satellite Anthem is beautiful.

It's funny how I try to listen beyond the voice to hear all the real music and the detail they put into it. I bet the average listener doesn't even listen beyond the lyrics and beat.

Lovely how the left drum forms a duo with the center (and right) drum. All the rhythms melt into a perfect drumsolo.

BoC funk CD
In the words of Shaft, "Damn Right!"

Finally listened for the second time. Diggin' it more. Love the organic vibes. If all the musical elements are indeed BOC, it proves they don't really need electronics, synths, and what have you to kick ass.

Lose/Win

Why the fuck does BoC have to remix shitty rappers like this? This track is really nice, but jesus christ, I really hate the rapping. (more like talking) I don't understand the appeal of this type of rapping/speaking/whatever, it's the most boring shit I've ever heard.

Put the vocals aside and this is a fuckin epic track! I really loved the drums at the end, that was just great! IF THEIR NEW RECORD HAS TRACKS LIKE THIS THAN I WILL PISS MYSELF.

Track is dope.

The droning trumpets are ace.

It only makes sense that BoC moves forward (and sideways), rather than staying put.

(as far as the lyrics go, they don't seem to bother me much... I find them amusing. Tho BoC could remix Neil Diamond farting and it would still be a masterpiece)

Aside from some of the silly lyrics, this is a very BOC-ish sounding track...not sure what the big deal is. I'm glad they aren't afraid to step outside of the box they're put into.

I guess all the haters haven't heard the Broken Drum or Dead Dogs Two remix.

Listened to it again this evening in the car, with the gf, for probably my one-zillionith time and still loved every minute of it. I think it actually put her in some kind of trance.

Props to Anticon!

lyrics are more of the same laconic self-indulgent crap that makes me dislike 80% of Anticon output, but... that droning sound... lushness. Also, the drums at the end. The way they pair up on different sides is just downright killer... I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if the bass part was original work by BoC.

The drone reminds me of Macquarie Ridge...

Does anyone know other musicians with similair feel to their drones?

i wonder with the next album they will have a band on it. just sounds like they may want to collaborate with more people on a boc album with hex sun people maybe. i like that idea.

I loved the music instantly...the lyrics I had to adjust to...I guess I wasnt expecting Why? to sound so harsh..not that I am against it, it just wasnt expected...with all that said I really like this tune lots...I think the anticon label really has some fresh sounding stuff...might I recommend the anticon sampler...

If you want to get conspiratorial, check out BoC's myspace page. Their top 4 friends are all Japanese. Maybe we'll be seeing an asian themed album next?

Okay, sorry, but it would have been mentioned at some point on here.

Also got this, it's awesome. Made me check out Passage- they did a pretty insane album featuring the track on this compilation 'the unstrung harp'.

That "trumpet drone" sounds a lot like a MS-20 to me.

Could be anything really.
