Goodbye social life, the geek in me has just been unleashed for the winter. I don't know how well my girlfriend is going to take this.

For
Sinterklaas I got:
- A transparent box for my Raspberry Pi
- Three candles in various shapes because I like burning candles
- Something to put the candles in while they are burning
- Deodorant and shower gel
- A 4gb USB stick
- Two bottles of Crabbies beer and a tall glass to pour it into that my sister brought from Wales where she lives

Whoa! What
is that?!
My most recent purchase was a Sony CCD-TRV8 Hi8 camcorder for use in analog/lo-fi video projects.
I found it secondhand at a local thrift store for $24.99 today; I was walking along a road in my neighborhood an hour or so after purchasing it, using it to film some plants, and a man who was walking along the other side of the road informed me that he had sold that exact camcorder model this weekend for $250 on eBay.
Evidently $24.99 is a better deal than I had previously thought!
With regards to the camcorder's quality, it's sort of typical Hi8; not quite as lo-fi as VHS, but closeish. It sometimes has some very nice static/tracking-errors on the bottom quarter or so of the videotape.

I got a near mint copy of Biologia Marina on vinyl. A fucking brilliant record! A rare one at that.
I'm going to rip the album in HD in a little bit.

Whoa, I've never actually heard of this. Sounds REALLY good based on a few minutes of listening to the YouTube upload.
How exactly are you planning to rip the album? Do you have a turntable with a USB output, or some other setup?

I just ran the turntable through RCA to 1/8" stereo out on my laptop.

Just picked it up for 80 euro and got Campfire Headphase for 90 recently ( which is a good price I reckon from what I've seen for a near mint copy ) I love the Campfire Headphase artwork, probably my favourite BoC artwork/packaging, followed closely by Geogaddi.
