Me too (PM link). I pre-ordered the LP (had to go LP and not CD) and couldn't hear the stream because of work.

Why does this album have to sound like any album they did before? Why can't BoC just evolve creatively the way THEY want to and make the music THEY want to create? After first listen, I do not think this is a perfect album, but I appreciate it because it's BoC in 2013. This will be the best album released this year by any band, by far, regardless of its few shortcomings. I'm sorry you don't like it, but maybe you need to open your mind, step out of the past, and listen to the sound of NOW. Like I said, it has a few imperfections, but I think the album is very present with it's cold, scary, and chilling sounds. It's in tune.
i agree. i'm sorry for anyone who feels disappointed with the album but i cannot... CANNOT understand how anyone would think this album is lazy in any way. i was enthralled from start to finish with intricate sound design & textures, beautiful, broad cinematic synths and amazingly crafted rhythm parts. it really sounded to me like they spent a great deal of time on these songs, particularly 'palace posy', 'uritual', 'cold earth' and 'nothing is real'. after listening to TCH i was not impressed at all but it soon grew on me. TH is an instant classic if you ask me and although it might be a bit hasty to say after just one listen, i'd probably put it ahead of geogaddi. gold standard boc.

Goddamn it, I missed it. I knew I was missing as I missed it. I couldn't help it. But I'm kinda glad. I want my first listen to be outside in the woods anyway... I'm sure it's amazing

This really was worth the wait. The second half of the album is the closest to instant pleasure they've provided since MHTRTC, the first half is growing like Geogaddi/TCH did.

i have to say i'm am enjoying this album a hell of a lot more second time through. it seems the stream i recorded on my mac is way better quality than when i listened to it live on my iphone with headphones. it suddenly came alive!

I wasn't waiting something they already made, I was waiting and hoping something new, but this is not new to me, it's full of old boc pastiche,.
My mind is wide open, I love what is making actually in some part of the synth scene, brand new type of music, but here it's a backward move to me.
BUT I will see if I change my mind in the next days, and maybe i'm totally wrong that's all I hope.

Yeah it's funny I feel like Telepath is where the album really takes off for me, at least right now. It's like okay...here's Gemini (short BoC album intro, but really good!), Reach for the Dead (Dayvan Cowboy of the album, but really good too!) White Cyclosa (John Carpenter pastiche) Jacquard Causeway (experimental piece) and then BOOM, this album catches on fire.
It's almost the opposite of TCH in a way, where the first 5 tracks are amazing, with 3 or 4 more tracks interspersed afterward that are really good.
