I don't blame you, I also thought to myself "I wonder what the brothers think if they heard this happened"... I did come to the conclusion that I doubt they care at all or would say anything, the initial leak of them to begin with provoked no response or acknowledgement at the time, I don't see a full quality cassette rip suddenly making them feel the need to break their silence.

you guys are hallucinating yet again. theres nothing new here and it should be ok to disagree about it. it is extremely unlikely that all ears are hearing the same thing when splitting hairs this closely. this is hype for lemmings with questionable judgment. just because someone got all amped about nothing doesn't mean you all have to form a chain of cliff divers. you really aren't getting anything new and the lack of debate is sad. buy a new amp or headphones, everything else will sound new too. if you bother listening to anything else. why is it the same fucking songs over and over with the tiniest of tweaks that you really can't hear on yt? why not a fake Hooper bay instead? because no one involved in this has any talent for anything other than some lame exercise in mass hype.

Not sure if being totally sarcastic, but these absolutely are new rips from the dude who bought them from Mike Paradinas.

It is night and day clearer than the previous low bitrate garbage we've had to work with for 20+ years.
There is no amount of AI clean up or re-enacting the samples or otherwise that could mimic this.

The dude even posted pics of the tapes on reddit and a video clip of playing them over his sound system where they sounded clearly very different before these YT links.

..Paradinas himself confirmed he sold the tapes to a fan.

By any chance have you managed to get scans of the paper inserts to go along with the original audio files?

It’s been a busy couple weeks for me and I didn’t get these downloaded immediately and now yt has broken the downloaders. I have tried 3 to no avail! Anyone have these rips on google drive or know of a working downloader for ios or macos? , it would be greatly appreciated!!

Just chiming in again. Still over the moon. Such a treat.

^ I would advise against those spliced files, sounds like potentially a few problems just at a glimpse:
1- gain cranked up way too much causing clipping, original volume is fine. Grating to the ears.
2- not from highest quality source YouTube file or something possibly a transcode?
3- despite being 320k sounds like a really crappy mp3 encoder was used, it's a little fuzzy and hollowed out.

If anyone is interested in what bitrate and codec YouTube are using for these, it's 128k aac m4a, or 137k opus, depending on what you use to play it.

Anything ripped from YouTube will be in that quality only, or worse.

But yeah, downloads to the original raw tape rips without any processing done to them would be nice. In addition to YouTube's audio compression, it also removed a lot of the very high frequencies, and the ends to both Boc Maxima (One Very Important Thought) and AFOT (Nova Scotia Robots) are very slightly cut off.
