If it really marks the end of something, why isn't it the last track? People are getting very different vibes from this one than I am. Maybe it sounds like "classic BoC" because its origins are old?

i mean, that drum track is vintage 90's era BoC for sure. that was the big "oh theyr'e doing some serious callbacks here!" for me

Not to mention that kind of vocal-sounding synth being a bit similar to the one in Everything You Do Is A Balloon (and the melody it plays, too, a little).
It might not technically be the last track, but I Saw Through Platonia reads like an outro more than like...a SONG per se. I think compositionally there's plenty of weight to considering You Retreat to be a closer, ending credits theme thing. Leave it to the times, perhaps, to have a post-credits scene in I Saw Through Platonia, and leave it to BOC to inject some delicious ambiguity into their work!

Does the first part of the track sound like a minor key/bummer version of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" to anyone else's ears?
