That's what I did, muted it after the opening fanfare.
No way I was gonna listen to the new Boards of Canada in that quality. FLAC or nothing. It was fun seeing the reaction in real time on youtube though... and now reading the comments here and on watmm.
YouTube viewings peaked around 22,000 btw, with almost 10,000 comments on the live thread.
Well the main criticism I've noticed come up a few times is some people saying it's like the new record is BOC imitating BOC. To me that just seems like an illogical argument.
I mean it is BOC so if they sound a lot like BOC.....that's uh......
Perfect stream time for California. 1pm... Had me rushing on a lunchbreak from work trying to refresh an iPhone browser. I was standing in line at whole foods with one earphone when Jacquard Causeway finally took hold.
I'm glad I got to the Lake Dolores listening for my first taste.
The whole foods tip wouldn't have been a great intro after 8 years...

hey, that's why we're in this game right? It's the love of music, and when you find something you love sometimes you can't help but gush. I don't necessarily agree with your take on geogaddi (I find it more surreal and esoteric than dark and terrifying) but spot on about TH and the images/mood it invokes
All of old. Nothing else ever. Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
Downloaded the Reddit .zip file (which is surprisingly decent quality) because I missed the stream and just finishing listening through no interruptions for the first time.
Fuck the naysayers ... don't even know if I can express how I feel right now. This album is killer.
I was considering writing a little track-by-track thing but I don't want to spoil my personal thing with it right now.
Some of this honestly makes Geogaddi feel emotionally superficial to me ... not that it takes away from Geogaddi, this is just so twisted and rich.
Can't wait to get the proper quality and physical copy of this. This is going to be an incredible album with which to drive.
