The rule of BOC I've learned is never get your hopes up because the bare minimum usually happens. Remember the XYZ single from 2019? Or Treat Em Right in 2021. Happiness Projector is even less than that, but hey, at least they officially named the song now and it could honestly be part of a thematic direction of a more positive album after Tomorrow's Harvest. Lord knows we need one.

I think next year is finally when the funding from the shirts will be used to market this new album. I don't blame anyone from being disappointed but I still have hope for next year.

A positive Boards of Canada album? I doubt that’s gonna happen. BoC seem to have always sounded like a doom project. Fair enough there’s been a few positive tracks like New Seeds and peacock tail. But the ones that make you feel weird are usually pretty morbid. I reckon they could pull off a nostalgic Christmas album though via the Hell Interface thing. But even then, I doubt it would sound positive

They could do it if they dig a bit more into their prog roots. Poppy Seeds Reprise, Roygbiv, Alpha Rainbow, Into The Rainbow Vein and all the other spectrum-coded rainbow songs they did. They are so good at mixing new colors using synths.

I think when you’re making pretty morbid music you’ve got to be in that sort of space in your head. BoC are too clever for their own good. It’s hard work to exercise demons like that for means of creating art. The fruits of your labour rot into a stinking maggot infested cult festival of death and destruction. Anyway, the damage is done. Nothing we can do about it now.
