Vocals have been on my mind for a while now but not like this. If they produce a song for vocals I'm sure it would be totally different. Just like Apparat does for example.

Come on, you know BoC good enough to understand they won't take the slightest notice of to how their music is received... I'm sure this isn't the reason why the album isn't out yet.
You say delayed, since when is the release date pushed back?

yeah, you're both right.

when i meant delayed it just seems the amount of time we are waiting for real news is quite large.

Just downloaded the whole thing from Soulseek. From the Amazon sample and posts in this thread I was expecting something a lot worse. But yeah, more effort from Miss Knowles would have been fair. I really do hope Sandison bros. got paid really well for this karaoke-style publicity stunt. Or maybe they hid "Solange Knowles is a cunt" somewhere in the sample?

yes, but this what confuses me to be honest. i can see why they allowed her to sample the track, and i'm sure they were paid well - but at the same time, it just contradicts the image?

Heard the track for the first time earlier today. I'm in the minority here but I really don't think the track is all that bad, even though I think STBD is the superior track by far. Agreed about it being an 'interesting experiment'.

Judging by comments left elsewhere online, it would seem that people who would more typically listen to Solange (and similar) than BoC are liking the track. In my books, a good sign.

'This song is not over yet' @ 5 min mark made me smile too.

i'm not sure BoC take their image as seriously as their fans do

Agreed. In any case, I am sure they thought it through before making the deal.

not any more maybe, but they were very much focused on portraying themselves in a specific manner when people started talking about them. they did, after all, lie about being just friends when they're actually brothers. all because they wanted to avoid comparisons to orbital, who are just so uncool... two words lads: chemical brothers

just got to listen to the amazon sample. after hearing similar pop/neo rb vocalists/tunes, this is kinda typical of the genre: with the exception of a bassy thudding now and again , the "instruments" are to be just a hazy audio gauze with a few trilly bleats in the background. in other words, i kinda expected this. hey, it's all about her here (album)...

they did? when did that happen?

you can really hear the BoC influence on In Rainbows. The beginning of all i need sounds exactly like roygbiv and the drum machine on videotape = gyroscope

edit: yeah my radiohead observation is probably old news to y'all..i first picked up on it with i am citizen insane..sounds like a BoC wannabe track to me

Sounds pretty shoddy, doesn't it. I really hoped that it was going to be great - I'd have loved to hear the sample used creatively to make a brilliant POP song; but it just sounds a bit lazy and half-arsed.

I agree, it's not abjectly horrible, it's just rather mediocre and unimaginative. a squandered opportunity.

Uh... sounds like one of those random internet mashups you run across on soulseek...... like someone just noticed the a capella and the track were the same bpm and put them together for the hell of it.

But it has opened the concept of vocals over boc tracks, I think a female voice over would bring a great trip-hop remix. a voice like Beth Gibbons or Kelli Dayton (sneaker pimps), that type of voice could pull something good off.

But this is bull.
Oh no no no... no trip-hop would be a big step backwards. I was hoping for some more in the folky vein they've hinted @ in their tunes.. but whatever.

Yeah.. this is... mysterious that they ever let this track out of the bag.
