What Mexicola said Fredd. But I'm really sorry man. It really does hurt. On the practical side of what you can do right now (having been through it and treating my patients that are going through it)

1. Make sure you sleep.

Sleep is really key to feeling better. I found it really hard when I went through this very same thing to sleep much at all for months and I think it really delayed my healing. Working out helped me to eat and sleep better and I took sleeping pills for a time just to get the rest. When I didn't get good sleep for a couple of days I'd feel like it was day 1 of the breakup again and like I was coming unglued.

2. Eat.
Even if it is protein shakes or whatever. Solid food can sound really bad but you have to get nutrition.

3. One day at a time.

Try not to reminisce too much but don't push yourself to think of the future or whatifs too much either. Try to just be here today. If you want to go out and be social try it and if you hate it leave. Give yourself permission to be kinda all over the map. There is no set time line and should be's about this stuff.

4. Be nice to yourself.
Whatever that means to you. I found it hard to go without touch for too long so I occasionally went to a spa and got myself a massage. It felt great and was a healthy way to get physical needs met (unlike getting drunk and hooking up with someone I couldn't care less about which always felt like shit to me.)

Personally, I always found it really cathartic to throw myself into work (typically recording music, in my case). But yeah, keep your daily cycle healthy- limit the late nights to a minimum, don't overdo the drugs, eat.

So I meet the most amazing girl ever, we spend some awesome times together. One hitch, she goes away teaching in South America in a few months, thankfully we haven't got into a proper relationship because of this but still, it doesn't change the fact that I feel a little hurt by the whole thing.

Married for about a year now, known the girl for 8 years.

But I can honestly say if I lost her, I'd probably never date/sleep with anyone ever again.

I must admit, I am rather lonely. Here's hoping someone awesome comes along one of these days. They'll have to be pretty weird, I imagine. More likely than not, someone with as convoluted and unusual an idea of their own gender as I have of mine.

Spent the evening with a sweet girl. We ate pizza, drank wine, and watched Titanic. Easily the most traditional Valentines I've ever had... hell... it was the only Valentines I've ever really had.

Me and my reclusive ways.

That guy is a serious douchebag, but unfortunately that girl is a complete tool.

Ah, relationships between dysfunctional people.

I especially like the girl's friend enabling postively insane behavior
