It’s simple. I’m speculating, and that’s the purpose of this specific thread. There will always be a way to doubt and say “hm I’m 100% the next release will not use numerology.” But instead of offering doubt, I’m offering ideas and plausible connections. There were 1998 days between the two Nevermen remixes; I wonder if something awaits 1998 days after their second 2016 remix? It’s one-step-removed logic worth mentioning. Instead of discussing the song in this thread, I am speculating about it’s role in the latest era of BOC. You have a point that the sisters remix wouldn’t be significant unless they were to say release a second “sister” Odd Nosdam remix on August 12, and it does look like there were special circumstances surrounding this follow up remix, but they held on to this surprise for quite a while, so who knows what they have in store for us. And who knows the inner workings of their release schedule? That’s getting so in the weeds when this is just about exploring possibilities.fefor wrote:I'm lost, why are you counting 1998 days after the Sisters remix? their latest remix was in 2017, if they were trying to do something with numbers I'd expect the previous release to be the one relevant (like when people were trying to count how many days passed since TH) but still I don't think they would ever do something like this with remixes of all things since, as it was mentioned before they did this remix years ago and the ones that had it in its possesion decided to release it now, I really doubt the brothers get to choose the exact release date and much less I don't think they would come up with a plan like "ok we are giving you this remix now (circa 2018) but don't release it until 2021, it has a sample from 1998 so people will have to count 1998 days before 2021 so it'll align with a previous remix of ours for another artist"writetomhatcher wrote:Are you just going to ignore the 1998/Open the Light connection here? I don’t get how you could ignore the numbers when they are literally doubling down on the concept in front of our very eyes.
With all respect it sounds like half life 3 confirmed jokes.

I mentioned in another thread that the "Open the Light" sample is not the album version, but instead the one from their old website loops. It has the same piano part in it.writetomhatcher wrote:Are you just going to ignore the 1998/Open the Light connection here? I don't know when the web loops are from, but its just something to point out that it may not actually be tied to the 1998 album.

I think they've liked people asking for a "new boc album" though. That's the one reason to not give up hopeSamuraiDrifter wrote:How much you wanna bet this remix was the "new material" they were liking tweets about? Haha

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I've seen someone on twoism or discord entertain the idea that this is BoC's subtle message to Nevermen and implying they're forced to make these remix.
This is dumb first of all. Think of it this way instead ... if there was a message directed to anyone it would be directed to us and you've got to ask yourself those questions:
Do we treat them right?
Do we treat them like a prostitute?
You could go even a level further and ask yourself "Is everything directed to me as a BoC fan?" Here's a clue: It's probably not.

Well, what actually panned out as far as the pioneer numbers? Weren't we all trying to predict some sort of drop on a specific date that correlated to the plaque?fefor wrote:ThisRoswell wrote:if you look hard enough anywhere, you will always find something
Remember thats what people also said with the pioneer's last signal and all of the other connections (747, TH, etc) it was a lot of things that seemed too much to be a coincidence, but it was, it was just people looking hard enough at numbers until you find something you can relate it with.Davism wrote:seems a little too improbable.
This remix was dropped 1998 days after their last Nevermen remix, using a sample from their first major album that was released in 1998. To me, that's confirmation that at the very least they waited 1998 days to release this most recent remix.

I giggle at the thought of the two Ms in the studio worrying about what people will think about the lyrics. Because they would not!

Yep, and nothing happened.
The sample was from the webloop, not the version of Open the Light that appeared on MHTRTC. (I know that's getting really nitpicky, but so is counting the days between releases). This remix was dropped 1998 days after their last Nevermen remix, using a sample from their first major album that was released in 1998. To me, that's confirmation that at the very least they waited 1998 days to release this most recent remix.
Also, even if it was the MHTRTC version, I still don't see how that's any sort of confirmation that the amount of days is a of reference to the release year. It could still easily be a coincidence. It's not even that wild of a coincidence tbh.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
Alright, its just that you said "how can you ignore this?" in your original post, so I'm explaining why I can unless there's more to it. I'm not saying you shouldn't post theories, I'm just asking how you got to that conclusion or how you made the connection because I was honestly lost. I didn't realise there were also 1998 days between two *nevermen* remixes, I get what you meant now. On the innerworkings I'm basing it on what Lex said + similar stories I've seen with other artists when they remix stuff (I was also thinking about the time Autechre remixed SOPHIE, apparently they had received the remix in mid 2020 but it finally got released in jan 2021, what I'm trying to say is that the artist that did the remix might not get to decide when the other artist or record label releases, so thats why I wouldn't look for hints on something that is a collab or when they are working with other people, there's prob more chances of a hint or arg happening if it was a release entirely under their name like a single, something they'd have complete control over)writetomhatcher wrote:It’s simple. I guess this being a different version of Open the Light does kinda throw a wrench in the 1998 assertion. Oh well.

You're all banging on about numerology and shit like it's more important than the music you hear. It's pathetic.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I mean the track itself has its own thread and we already commented on how much we liked it / talk about the music itself in said thread (/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14871), don't see the harm in the discussion we are having here. I also don't think anyone implied or meant that this is more important than the music we hear.

Big mood. Reap what you sow, the thread discounted some dope pop artists and boc smacks us with a groovy hip hop banger w awesome psychedelic vocal harmonies
"to be scared, is perfectly fair" from Mister Mistake (I think?) is also awesome

Speculation? In a speculation thread?Sl Flk wrote:You're all banging on about numerology and shit like it's more important than the music you hear. It's pathetic.
Ok despite the sass I have to agree it's a bit pathetic. Clearly what they're doing now is hiding Aspects of the Qabbalistic Tree of Life in their work and we have to find what every track on geogaddi links to what path on the tree of life to unlock the next album.
Cos you know ... there are 22 tracks for each of the 22 path of the tree of life AND magic window counts as representing the Ain Soph/Infinite nothing before the Crown Sephirot.
I mean come on y'all. It's not that you're pathetic. You're just not pathetic enough to be entertaining

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
speculation is great, but where do you draw the line? at some point it’s no longer reasonable speculation, and it’s just insanity. i think BoC learned their lesson with the TH ARG, it practically turned half their fans into stalkers. i doubt they’ll pull something like that again.
no information at this moment in time

The speculation and theory-crafting is harmless by itself and if you really think it's pathetic, here's a wild idea, don't read the thread.
Where it gets ridiculous though is when people put so much faith in those wild theories that they start going all gloom and doom "BOC are finished forever I have no hope!!" when they inevitably don't come true.

What is this nonsense? You are zoomed into such a narrow view of their interests as artists. Did they ever have a legitimate, dedicated stalker? I'm curious, if that's the case.Roswell wrote: i think BoC learned their lesson with the TH ARG
This is key here. Some people are reading into how "worked up" people are getting, and I think just projecting their anxieties onto this. I mean, I'm having fun, and I'm not getting emotional about it.SamuraiDrifter wrote:The speculation and theory-crafting is harmless by itself and if you really think it's pathetic, here's a wild idea, don't read the thread.
