I'm a sysadmin, worked for a decade on ERP Systems integration (Siebel, Clarify etc.) and had a fairly fun time of it. Then spent 18 months doing release management (it was either that or the boot, hated it) and for the lst three months have been involved in monitoring/capacity planning which is more technical again in essence, love it so far.
I graduated in medical science (Toxicology), but computers are WAY more fun!
Proof that no matter what you study it's best to listen to your heart.
