I don't know if this has been said or not, but I just heard a BoC track on the documentary The Great Sperm Race.

i heard iabpoitc the other day in the middle of a completely random podcast i had downloaded.

i heard dawn chorus on some kids wildlife show on the BBC about underwater habitats. dayvan cowboy was played during a show last year on the BBC about crofting too. both seemed very apt at the time.

Before i saw Radiohead at Reading Festival they played Zoetrope through they speakers, i heard Thom Yorke is a big fan so he must of asked for it to be played. What was strange is I'm used to not knowing anyone who listens to BoC, but there i was with 70,000 people listening to them - very odd.

That was awesome, it worked so well.
My favorite part was when they just show the stripper and the client just holding on to each other.
A great song for that specific study due to the sexual understones found in the song.

A while ago The One Show had an item on nuclear power (quite apt, I suppose) and it used several songs off Geogaddi throughout, I definitely remember Corsair being on it. There was also a German decumentary on ZDF that used Hey Saturday Sun.

Yep, I saw that too! I remember Corsair being used at least 3 times during a documentary regarding the BP oil spill on the BBC also. I hope I'm not getting the programs confused.

Just saw a replay of a 2008 episode last night on BBC America and there was a ton of BOC in it. In fact, my 13 year old son noticed it and said, "Hey dad.....that's Boards of Canada."

I had to get up and high five him.

I don't know if i've ever heard them outside of my computer or ipod..except for hearing a beautiful place, dawn chorus, and satellite anthem icarus on sirius radio a few times (channel 35)

Sort of found it. The ad I watched had all the hexagons fade in to form the logo and then zoom out, this ad just shows the logo.

EDIT: It's almost exactly the same, but with colours reverse and the image flipped.

I totally saw that commercial (in the states) and the FIRST thing I thought of was THEY STOLE THAT FROM BoC!

I was also there, and was really surprised and excited to hear Zoetrope coming out of the speakers. Autechre - Melve was definitely played before that too, which was great!

I had a similar thing before I saw Sigur Ros in London once, Hammersmith Apollo I think - it was just soon after TCH came out and that's what they were playing ^_^

Not really a strange place, but they sometimes show up on tv, as background music for commercials for new tv-shows and what not.

Randomly turned the T.V on and a cartoon network bump was playing chromakey dreamcoat. It seems that CN and Adult Swim are big fans of this song as I've seen it on multiple bumps

A pub in my town has BOC on their jukebox! Loads of songs as well! I played darts to Aquarius but it was drowned out a bit by drunk farmers playing air hockey :/ (I could have chosen Sixtyten or Tears From The Compound Eye lol. Imagine that on a busy night)
