upon further and further listening, this album is unbelievable. 'weekend wildfire' makes me long summer and 'the ephemeral bluebell' is so emotional and beautiful

i never could get into Bibio at first, but night-before-last my 6 of my friends and i had a big stoned draw-jam where Bibio was the musical centerpiece. my friend's brother kept asking, "who is this!" and then "...ok, who's this?" for each couple of tracks, and my friend kept telling him, "Still Bibio!" pretty soon I was doing the same thing. kudos Bibio, great stuff here.

well, that's ok i guess. at least delayed is better than canceled.

well i mean hopefully... i don't usually buy mp3s cause if i like something i get a hardcopy version of it anyway (try before you buy) , but i made an exception here... everyone go buy this and the other bibio records. duty now for the future.

vignetting the compost is a really beautiful album, and shows huge progression from his earlier releases, but the campfire headphase wins hands down in my opinion.

Nah. Headphase is pretty dull in comparison to Vignetting the Compost.

It really flows as opposed to Hand Cranked which just sounded like acoustics being looped on an mpc. This ones got a more organic feel like Fi, except the songs aren't too short. You can tell he likes ISB, because the songs twist and shift so seamelessly. Listen to "Under the Pier".

Let's agree to disagree on the matter. Whilst I think Bibio's album is great, I also think it's lacking something, but I don't know what. It just doesn't trigger my senses like BoC does.

Got to say, having listened several times now, I think I'm with Fredd-e on this one. I'm underwhelmed.

It's better than Fi or Hand Cranked, but I can't listen to him for more than 5 or 6 tracks before I just get..... bored??? I dunno. My loss I guess? Meh

But really, nothing has triggered my senses like Vignetting the Compost. I grew up in Wales, and watching the videos he made were like watching parts of my childhood.

I used to love Headphase, but now it just leaves me a bit cold. It conjures no nostalgia feelings at all.

But I'll probably listen to it soon and love it again. Just you wait and see.

You know what'd be awesome? A Bibio remix of a Boards of Canada track. That would be awesome. And I was thinking a Boards of Canada remix of 'Great Are The Piths' could be pretty damn awesome, too.
