As for the reddit post i have no idea. The post isn't very convincing, but the audio is...

It's definitely interesting, but with the fact that the reddit moderators deleted it and the misspelling of geogaddi.
I don't really feel like this is a good road to go down.

Anyway, like most so called leaks, it can always be official or just a fanmade ripoff. At this point it's even more easy with using og tracks for that.

However the idea of Boards of canada making an official remix of their own tracks feels almost impossible. So i'm not gonna lie i don't trust like that, especially with remix material.

Official or not tho, it's a freaking amazing remix.

Whoever made it knows their production and mixing techniques. The stereo width/spacing on the vocaroo leak is very well done.

Geogaddi is one of the best sounding albums I can think of so a remaster would be the most misguided idea that BoC or Warp has ever had. If you're convinced something will happen on this anniversary it will either be something new (unlikely) or new piece of merch.

Yeah, given that BOC don't release anything they're not totally happy with, the idea of getting a remastered or deluxe version with extra tracks or outtakes has always seemed very farfetched to me. If they wanted other tracks on the album they would've put them there. And if/when we get something new, it'll be its own event, not on a date pertaining to one of their previous albums.

Same reason I don't think we'll be getting the BOCset anytime soon, or while they're currently active. They're looking forward, not living in the shadow of their past accomplishments, as easy as that would be with a discography as superb as theirs.

I agree with you that since they're perfectionists they presumably wouldn't now release the stuff they deemed not good enough initially. But at the same time, they've supposedly gone through all their old material like mdg said... It's a contraction I suppose, or maybe they changed their minds... twice.

the cool thing would be to make a soundcloud dump like Aphex twin, but i've always heard BOC is ashmed of their old stuff and wouldn't want it public
