BOC mentioned on last nights Peep Show.

Mitchell & Webb don't write Peep Show (or the Look IIRC) it's Sam Bain and Jese Armstrong. They also write Fresh Meat although that's more collaborative apparently.

The clues were all a bit deliberately obtuse, I think. The point was to make it all he more obvious how difficult it was for Mark to have any chance of joining in the fun and that Dobby and her ex have a shared past and set of reference points he can't begin to rival.
But I do think the BoC one was either a very sly dig at them or otherwise ridiculously out of touch. Knowing how carefully observed most of their cultural references are I reckon it's the former. BoC would baulk at being labelled hipsters as it implies a sort of lame 'me too' approach; following trends and fads. On the contrary they sit outside all that and set ther own direction. Also they are manifestly not still going strong. There's legitimate debate about whether they are even still going at all.
Actually the comment can be seen as a sarcastic in joke about lazy perceptions and their long hiatus. Dobby could really be sharing a knowing, ironic view of BoC with her one time boyfriend in the knowledge he will 'get' the contradictions and know who she means. Even if Mark did know BoC he would either be baffled by the caricature or the irony would be lost on him. As it is the viewer is either as excluded as Mark or in on the joke. Either way we're always aware of the gulf between him and Dobby. That's the genius of Bain & Armstrong.

There was probably some fantastic stuff in there for Napolean fanatics too, but that went over my head if it there was.

they didn't write peep show, but pretty sure they were heavily involved in the writing of M&W Look.
A lot of the skits have that twisted look on modern life that Mitchell has in particular.
