for example. the cartoon network ad was showing different places in the desert for a reason, i feel like there is more to that then what we saw. maybe some of those clips were from the video for the first single. who knows?

I'm pretty sure the video was supposed to represent the 'post-apocalyptic' feeling to the new album. Could be wrong though.
I've really enjoyed the few interviews they've done in the past (even the snippet of the Peel Session chat). In the end...I just want to see what the brothers are most comfortable doing. I've done interviews with bands who just weren't into it and is unfortunate for all participants. If it means only a few text interviews and not playing live...I trust their judgement. Given how good their music is after years of tweaking that is.

me too, a few intos here and there, Wire etc and thats it. as for Live gigs nah, they are the enigma and leave it at that. This is not Leftfield or My Bloody Valentine. Yea course i'd go and see them play but i'd much prefer them to stay as they perfectly are. I don't go for that shit anymore. Bands of course now more than ever need to tour to make a living but when you're this good and can just survive on record sales/royalties alone and be happy then you're a legend in my book.

I'd hope that they make enough money off of sales to not compromise their values. Unfortunately, many people don't care enough to buy albums nowadays. But, especially with a band like Boards of Canada, I welcome it. 25 bucks for the vinyl and mp3's isn't too bad when I consider that it benefits not just the band but Warp's ability to fund other projects.
