Wish I could afford to bid

The prices are truly astronomical for the OLD TUNES and a FEW OLD TUNES.. I wish I could have them as well, as does everyone here I'd say.

Is there previous form on the value of the Old Tunes or BoC Maxima? Have they turned up before for sale?

Yeah, be lovely to get a hi-res scan, definitely.

I wonder if the person is selling these because they know old tunes are going to get released and they worry the value will go down? (I don't think this is true though, only a big collector is going to bid on these and they have collectible value whether they get a proper release or not).

Probably just being opportunistic because of the timing with the new album. I'd love these so much, but there's no chance in hell for me so I won't even sweat it. I just want the music anyway.

Yes and the auctions were shut down by mdg. Curious what will happen now...these guys really need to get the boxset out sooner rather than later so people will stop profiteering from this material.

Surely there's no legal recourse to people selling them though if they're perfectly legit, so I'm not sure how they manage to get the auction shut down other than appealing to the seller's better nature.

Yeah I was gonna mention weren't past auctions of these shut down? Didn't we just have that argument about that Cody kid disrepecting the bands wishes? I'm pretty sure they don't want these things on ebay.

They may not like it, but unlike the TH leak, I sincerely doubt there's anything they can really do about it (apart from maybe buy them back themselves). I they sent them out unsolicited to record companies then even if copyrighted there's little they can do about resale, it's not as though its being duplicated and copies sold.

im sure jasper johns would flail about if his work ended up on ebay too, but boc legally forfeited ownership of said materials and content upon mailing out this as a promo 15 years ago. ebay has no claim in listening to the band or label as they are 1. very old. 2. been released in other forms elsewhere. 3. legally obtained by owner. and 4. is a real, tangible item, not a mockup or fake. (versus a download or lets say a ghost or selling your soul). other cases of ebay pulling items may have been for reasons above or they may have just been pressured in some sort. mike and his wife and the brothers are probably pals right? i would be very surprised if they werent in some degree. who knows, maybe they gave their blessing.

Oh I don't think they have any recourse here. Just mentioning they got pulled last time so it seems like they don't want them up there. The argument about the TH recording never really extended to whether it was legal or not, we were discussing the morality of it.

I'm not trying to cast stones at anyone here, if I had the money I'd be going for these too, in a heartbeat.
