Is anyone else here super intrigued about Palace Posy? There's been a lotta talk about it!

Yeah it sounds like that one is my kind of Boards track. Upbeat chord progressions taking me back to being a kid. If it is a Roygbiv 2.0 I won't be disappointed.

Reading all this stuff about it and not hearing it is getting tough though. I guess the anticipation and buildup is half the fun of it. I just hope I don't overhype it in my head so much that when I hear it it's an anticlimax.

Nah you got it wrong, they survived. they are in the back of the chopper surveying the destruction of their land until they spot a movement, an eerie movement of something that clearly couldn't have survived. They decide to suit and boot and go in, LV426 style. They march on to see what they can find. They find... A geek watching a blank screen with the sound on mute.

Totally! It's kind of weird, for some reason I didn't anticipate all the hype after the stream. I think it's cool though, it's like that random guy you meet that's never seen Star Wars (if only I could watch them again for the first time).

Like many here, I've chosen to wait until I have time to go to a hill nearby and sit there looking at the scenery.

That's the spot I've chosen. Gonna go scouting for the best hiking way to get there next week.
And I'll wait with listening to it until my Japanese import cd comes in the mail. Although if my vinyl copy comes around that time, I'll bring that and my portable record player up to the hill :)

It's not roygbiv 2.0, don't set your mind to that. It's a rad track but it's nothing like that. Think aphex's girl/boy only the children were limbless creepies from silent hill.

2. How the hell do you "spoil" an album anyway?
1. Well, some people (myself included) have commitments. School, work, etc that prevented them from being able to tune into the stream.

2. Well, you might "spoil" the experience by being negative with every single post you make on this forum. But that's just my subjective opinion.
Where I'm from people like GeogEddie are called cunts.

Was at job to make money--will not hear prerecord streams--have not heard album--probably won't for weeks.

Will say all this fury around the album has made me ill. Miss the old times.

Me too. I'm still waiting for a tune like Happy Cycling to grace us on one of these albums. Just after 5 minutes when the whole thing opens up and the melodies kick in. Still my favorite BoC track.

I, too, am waiting until I have a physical copy in my hands.

Its not really the old or new music--its all good, its this internet viral marketing, ideal self and influx of traffic. Countless internet culture/masturbation/drug casualties--its wildly sad. The old tracks just appeared and there were about 10-20 cool people to rap about it with back in the day. They are still around but the static is overwhelming.

I saw the live Tokyo stream, so I've heard (and loved) RFTD. Also, when I was on vacation last week, I caved hard and watched a Dolores vid of White Cyclosa.

But, BESIDES ALL THAT, I haven't heard a thing.

I tuned in yesterday at work on mute for the first 3 minutes to watch for any video, but it was all black, and my boss walked in, so I shut the whole thing down and went for a walk. I couldn't take it. Waiting 8 freakin' years, checking this site like a fanboy pretty much daily, and then listening to a shitty stream in front of my shitty computer in my shitty office would not be a really graceful finish.

Since I've preordered 3 vinyls, 3 cds, and 2 shirts (for friends too), I'm rationalizing DL'ing a FLAC copy from the Japan release over the next few days when it shows. I mean, c'mon!? Release in the states on a Monday?! Get it together Bleep. I'll be right back in the same situation I was yesterday not being able to listen.

Hopefully, if those FLACs show, I'll be furiously speeding out to the desert Friday when the clock strikes 5. I'm literally bursting at the seams based on what I've read and heard so far. Longest week of my life, I'm sure.

I guess I know what you mean. Considering how aloof they are in general it does seem a bit un-boards like to go in for that type of campaign.

Given how fanatical and passionate their hardcore fanbase (myself included) is, the cryptic Wonka golden ticket hunt was always gonna catch on though.

I was EXACTLY the same. Do I open the browser or not? 7 years raises a lot more expectation than 4 or 3. I hope I'm not disappointed.

Yea, the roygbiv 2.0 track is def Nothing is Real.

I'm mildly regretting downloading a rip of the live stream. I've listened through a bunch of tracks several times, but I still haven't listened to it in the environment I want to. I might be deleting the files to stop myself from listening more. I'll re-download them when the real japan downloads are around or my Bleep download is available, whichever comes first.
