I love this song, but it does seem like it could go a lot longer. God. If they ever play live again, can you imagine an extra long version? Add another 4 minutes to the middle? UNF.

Interesting similarities alright!
The progression is pretty much identical.

at 2:17 2:26 2:35 and 2:44, more in the right ear than the left, there's a whispery hissy voice. i reversed it and it sounds like someone saying..."sick times"
i have a wee mp3 of it but don't really know where to easily upload it

Also, this tune reminds me of Pete Standing Alone.

It's funny. I initially got a Envane/Chastic Slide-era feel from this track. Definitely hear the Rae in there, now. Really wonderful track.

Outreach track

Sick Times is the odd man out for me. There's a knocking beat that seems foreign to BoC. One thing I like about their music is that they never make use of "bass knock" beats. It reminds me of epic house from the later 90's (Chicane, BT).
Perhaps Sick Times is homeopathic? A little bit of poison can be good for you? It only bothers me when I'm hyperaware.
I think it may actually serve as an outreach track - being played to unsuspecting audiences who might not otherwise be exposed to BoC - leading them to the other experiences to be had?

This track is slowly becoming one of my favourite tracks on the album. Very subliminal voice samples in this one! Also, that changing bass line in the other half of the track really deepens the atmosphere.
