Great to see Dead Meadow get a mention - I'd forgotten about them; great band.

Saw them supporting (I think) Super Furry Animals a few years ago.

The Black Angels are very hit and miss for me. I listened to them a TON during the Passover/Directions to See a Ghost era, but after Phosphene dream they really lost me. Something about going from an evil drone rock sound to the more retro 60s psych poppy vibe really lost me. Though I did hang out with them once after a show in Nashville...well, Stephanie and Christian at least. Really cool folks.

When I saw Dead Meadow playing with Spindrift a couple years back, Jason busted a guitar string halfway through Sleepy Silver Door, looped about 8 bars of soloing, kept it from getting repetitive by running it through his wah pedal, and then stopped to restring while the rest of the band just chugged along as if nothing had happened. Oh yeah and sasquatch was running around the stage. Best show ever.

Holy shit. There's some really good stuff here. Dead Meadow, which I have never heard of before, sound really really really really really really really good...

Check out either their self titled album if you want a bit more of a harder edged sound or Feathers if you want something a bit more dreamy. Both are (imo) the best two albums in their catalogue.

No problem! Haha, I'm obviously a fan, given I picked a song of theirs as my user name on one of my other favorite band's message board. Everybody needs more Dead Meadow.

Though I made my wife completely sick of them by playing them over and over and over and over. She got more sick of Bardo Pond than she did Dead Meadow though...though over the past month I'm afraid she'll end up annoying with Boards of Canada :p (With Bardo Pond, check out their albums Amanita, On the Ellipse, and Ticket Crystals if you can...On the Ellipse is my fave of the three). :)
