I'm made up that pointed that out! I remember something one of them said in an old interview about not over-using a great musical idea the way a pop song 'kills' the chorus, and he mentioned using a great idea just once in a whole track. The IABPOITC noodle is an incredibly beautiful example of that

I'm not the biggest fan of MHTRTC as a whole (I know, I know! Fuck me, right?) but Olson, man... damn.

Very astute observation. They like only feeding you a little bit a time or making you wait a long time for the siiiick drop. I like that they do that. They give you just enough of a great section or melody, but at the same time leave you wanting a bit more. It's teasing.

Melissa Juice. No question. I can't imagine anyone saying anything else. Well, there is Last Walk...and Poppy Seed. Huh. Subjectivity is a bitch.

Don't know about "pulling on my heart strings", but this is my favourite as well. It sums up BoC.

I'd have to say that lead synth in Everything You Do Is A Balloon around 4:15, or the way Boqurant leads into 5/9/78

Sundown. That chord 0:20 in... The entire thing... Sundown feels like a younger sibling of Farewell Fire to me.

I know it's a weird choice but I get so much from June 9th. It goes from something quite blunt and mechanical into this beautiful melancholic electro. It's also one of the most overtly nostalgic for me, like an overload of '70s Schools & Colleges jingles. All of the melodies on it are good but they combine to make something far greater.

since june 4th twoism has made aware of so much about boc that i hadn't known... i've gotten awesome copies of a few old tunes, old tunes vol. 2, 35 track tape.. damn.

i am grateful and am hesitant to ask a another favor about Last Walk On Mirror Lake. is this a remix of another song or an original boc tune? and does anyone have a copy they could flip over to me?

It is a remix of a song by an artist called Boom Bip.
