While we're playing with spectrograms, is there anything to be said for taking the left spectrogram and blending it with the right one (either multiplicative, additive, subtractive) and see if that yields anything?

It's just that in some tracks (especially uritual) there seems to be a bias to one ear rather than the other.

You can do it using the likes of Coagula, AudioPaint, Bitmaps & Waves etc.

IMHO putting pictures in song spectra is a gimmick that thankfully ran out of steam at least a decade ago.

While something on that scale would of course make it much more obvious, I'm guessing it would also be extremely obvious sonically, adding a bunch of noise to the tune itself. Although I've seen the Aphex spectrogram before, I haven't heard the tune itself so correct me if I'm wrong on that.
No, you're right. Here's the Aphex Twin song with the spectrogram. There's lots of other imagery in the track, and they are sonically obvious. Aphex's face appears around 5:30.

EDIT: Here is Look, by Venetian Snares.

So I found hexagons in "Split your Infinites":

Wow. This is the high frequency tone that's heard throughout the track.

HOLY CRAP. I totally see it. That's awesome.

But what why would they hide an image of an elephant fucking a car in a spectrograph. What does it mean?

Multiple weird lines? In a spectrograph?? Are you sure???

Well Aphex Twin did manage to put a face in the spectrograph

And Venetian Snares managed to hide cats in there.

Wouldn't be a stretch for BoC to do something like this.
I wouldn't call that venetian track music though. static generated from kitty pics.
awesome pics though

I suppose that we're indeed not supposed to listen to it, as the title of the track indicates, and Snares didn't intend us to call it a song. But if Iannis Xenakis had recorded that and titled it "Straktosfluribus", we'd have no choice but to call it music anyway. :)

I don't think we should be too submissive of that spectrograph of them in Gemini. I know this is oh-so late, but I googled them and they're both Geminis. I think it makes perfect sense. We could be overthinking but maybe it's just extremely subtle.

Oh tru tru. I misread that. Tho, Gemini and Cancers don't usually get along so I assume Marcus is a cusp between Cancer/Leo since it's near the end date for Cancers. It'd make more sense considering that Geminis/Leos get along extremely well. Despite any of that, it's still pretty crazy.

Yes, I guess that's correct, Cancer/Leo
