We could bombard NatGeo with emails requesting a stream, or at least that it be put back on sale. I'd like to see all of their old docs, actually.

if/when you transfer it, I'd suggest doing so according to this guide: http://anarchivism.org/w/How_to_Rip_VHSStarblazerUK wrote:No problems,
I have had it for ages, it's sat in my room awaiting my slow ass to purchase a nice broadcast vhs player/recorder/editor so I can upload the clip, as well as do some other stuff
yes! great work. i saw that copy floating around on there. im starting to think it was never actually made on ntsc vhs. looking forward to whatever you share! thanks!Little Cloud wrote:Just bought this off ebay for £1!, will try and get it up on here at some point, some how (the dandelion segment anyway).
Hahaha NERD!nick47 wrote:Dont worry, the preparation for a dive is always a tense time
it isnt a literal copy (like a 3rd party duplication, its an original nat geo copy), its an old part of a collection from a schools science department.Najlepsiejszy wrote:Looks kinda unprofessional, but in a good way
Now that's hardcore.nordheim wrote:...part of a collection from a school's science department.

(goes beyond the BOC connection, as im currently drinking out of my woods hole coffee mug and wearing my staff only woods hole oceanographic institute belt buckle. sub nerd.)
I believe so. Well, we will find out soon enough I guess. I know a lot of Brits that actually have this on VHS, but it has never been digitized officially or unofficially. Even if the BOC sample doesnt come from this, im still pleased as punch as ive wanted to see this gem for a long time. Again, being obsessed with submarines and bob ballard as a kid, this will be a real treat! Maybe my very own record will have a few samples from this as an homage to the boys... we will see. More soon I hope!arvy wrote:So basically this means you found an original sample from dandelion ? that's cool! And if so, I'm curious how much they sampled/cut it, from that is the original, so should I watch it?
I'd have to go routing through some of it, but I'm 99.9% sure they've talked about hallucinogens in one or two of their interviews before.Fireal420 wrote:just remember. if you want it to work
you have to listen to leslie nielsen voice forwards
and watch the video backwards
that was a bad geogaddi pun, but i did it anyway.
and im sorry. but id put a very good amount of money on it that BOC have def. dabbled in psychedelics. nobody in a sober frame of mind wakes up one day and says. we need a leslie neilsen track with some backwards synth melodies. just that sentence alone can cause a hallucination.
