Thank you very much for this!
I've always had fond memories associated with BOC Maxima. I almost prefer the gritty distorted version of Everything You Do Is A Balloon compared to the one found on Hi Scores. Same goes for the record rip of Twoism that was floating around. The CD version is too clean.
Thanks again!

Well. Downloaded the rar from the russian site (thanks for the link!!)
It looks real, I think it's real. But I guess the original tape was such a low quality.
9.flac (M9)
11.flac (Whitewater / One Very Important Thought)
In short:
Lossless files have frequencies that extend all the way up to 22 kHz.
But it depends on the genre and on the source too.
(Good comparison here about a
pop and a piano song)
So, even though the audible data is way below 22khz on both files, you can see the white noise extends up to 22khz.
No cut off.
Which means all the data has been recorded (= lossless).
But the source was not a good quality (= cassette tape).

A perfect CD copy would spark interest I'm sure, but this rip is, in the end, nothing new for the ears.

Thanks a lot, how did you split these?

I think the bass is deeper and the treble clearer. I can hear the difference between the FLAC and the old mp3 version with my headphones. And i m just happy to know i have listened the first gen copy and not a mp3 version of which i did not know the origin.
I split the track with XLD on Mac. First i join all the 11 tracks in one FLAC file. And with a .cue sheet ( metadata file which describes how the tracks of a CD are laid out) and a lot of patience i split, with my headphone on the ears, all the tracks, one by one.

This is great, thank you! I was planning on ripping my cassette copy for ages, and since I'm not known for being able to rip cassettes particularly well, I thank you for this! Ha!
I'm surprised people aren't jumping all over for these wonderful rips!

Wait - is this a joke or do you actually have a cassette copy of Maxima?
The problem with those flac files is that they contain distortion that seems to have been caused by ripping the cassette too loud, so a new rip from cassette would be a vast improvement....

don't feed a troll that doesn't even have the proper technical detail to use the correct picture on the cover of his Maxima fake.

Yes, but like Joyrex said on WATMM forum :
That distortion might be intentional - after all, this is BoC we're talking about
